Looking for that relaxing rural vibe, but not really willing to give up the convenience of urban amenities? Camping La Minière has both aspects sorted: this peaceful wooded site has plenty of quiet space to chill out, yet is only a 15-minute stroll from the centre of Forges-les-Eaux for easy access to a supermarket, a train station and restaurants. Active types can while away hours on site with games of pétanque or table tennis; those whose getaways favour sitting down can borrow books and board games or use the communal barbecues and picnic tables to set out an alfresco feast while les enfants mess about at the playground. When you find yourself with extra downtime, make your way to the swimming pool (open from mid-June to mid-September) too. If you fancy a bit of local pottering, you can hire bikes to pedal along forest paths or hit the 18-kilometre Avenue Verte that starts from Forges-les-Eaux. Venturing further afield, a half-hour drive will take you to castles, gardens and adventure parks dotted around the countryside, while 45 minutes or so in the car can have you wandering through historic Rouen or paddling on the beaches around Dieppe.

Liked Proximity to L’Avenue Verte, pitches bordered by hedges and trees.

Disliked Would have been helpful to have a pass to get through the heartier in and out of the campsite.

- Motion detector lights great for the toilet run at night time
- Swimming pool

Disliked - Owners attitude
- Sloped pitches
- Only 3 toilets for the whole site causes morning queues
- Dogs welcome but need to be walked off-site, lots of signs stating no toileting for dogs onsite even if it's picked up
- So many petty rules to follow so constantly in fear of being shouted at by the owner! - This is no exaggeration, he shouts so loud causing everyone to turn and look, half the time you're completely unaware you've broken a rule!

From the manager: Je suis très heureux de vous lire ,pour les chiens il est indiqué qu'il est interdit de laisser les excrément de votre chien ( il est marqué sur le panneau " un maitre responsable ramasse " et le second panneau interdit les chiens sur l'espace de jeu enfant (ce qui devrais être normal sans affichage mais malheureusement pas respecter pour l'hygiène et le bien être des enfants ) un second bloc de douches et toilettes a l'autre extrémité du camping est disponible mais peu de gens si rende par habitude et proximité du premier ,et oui nous faisons respecter les affichages tel que celui dons vous avez contourner en emmenant un ballon dissimuler sous votre habillement et qui a précédemment rouler dans l'herbe et sur les chemins venant polluer l'eau et salir l'espace de la piscine . Je vous rappel également que vous vous été permis de prendre des pierres d'ornement dans les massifs de fleur pour caller votre van et ça c'est bien la première fois qu'on nous le fait.

Liked Good location for first night/last night for Le Shuttle. Ample size pitches with privacy hedge screening. Lovely paella for Pompiers charity and outdoor film screening. Can walk through site into pretty little town (with a market on Thursdays). A little pool onsite.Facilities clean.

Disliked Pool full of dead flies. Reception needs to allow booked vehicles through the barrier ion to the site whilst checking in, or provide parking outside the barrier - cars were backed up on the road. Facilities dated.

From the manager: effectivement comme dans beaucoup de petit camping 2 étoiles ,il n'y a pas de papier dans les toilettes ,mais je m'étonne qu'un voyageur a vélo comme vous n'est pas ce genre de chose en cas d'avarie intestinal ,le sujet ayant déjà été évoquer dans des commentaires précédent .Mais je vois que vous n'avez pas mentionné le service + qui est nos boites consigne mis a disposition près de l'accueil afin de recharger batterie et téléphone facilement et en toute sécurité

Liked - Vlakke plaatsen en groot plek afgeschermd met hagen; hierdoor veel privacy
- Fijn zwembad met ligbedden
- De rust
- Gelegen dichtbij dorp en supermarkt; op loopafstand
- Zeer vriendelijke en behulpzame eigenaar die zowel Engels als Frans spreekt.
- Geen animatie; maar eenmaal per week een activiteit voor kinderen in de avond

Local attractions

Start your Normandy break with a wander around Forges-les-Eaux itself, poking around in the market and learning about the town’s wartime role at the Resistance Museum. A walk or bike ride on the Avenue Verte is highly recommended to see some of the scenic surrounds, as is a soak in the thermal waters of the local spa upon your return to town. If you like to peruse a château or two, take the half-hour drive to Château de Fleury-la-Forêt (home to a splendid doll museum), or wander through the gardens at Chateau de Vascoeuil to spot the sculptures scattered around the estate. More historic visits can be had in Rouen, 45 minutes’ drive away – take in the Museum of Fine Arts and Ceramic Museum, see the cathedral that inspired Monet or just potter through the restored medieval streets, looking up at the half-timbered houses. Also within half an hour’s drive are the Rêve de Bisons animal park, the gorgeous Le Jardin Plume and the treetop trails at Arbr’en Ciel adventure park.
