What customers say

Great for a quiet escape, with proper camping and fires. Loved the farm animals and rural vibe. Reasonable price too. Beach nearby with boat ramps was a bonus. Just be aware of potential crowding in the men's loos and unclear pitch markings.

Unpowered grass and earth site

Liked We liked the fact that we could have a fire that we cooked on and sat around at night. We brought our own firewood and used the abundant supply of pinecones as kindling. Having a fire made it feel like "Proper Camping". We also liked the Rural aspect with a goat and Llama's plus the livestock on the neighbouring property. The cost of our stay was very reasonable as well.

Disliked The only thing I didn't like was the male ablution block had only 2 toilets meaning there was lineup.

Liked Beautiful place, really enjoyed watching everyone around having a good time as well, beautiful location right next to a beach with plenty of boat ramps. Good and clean public facilities including the kitchen.

Disliked Camping sites don’t have a clear marking so maybe hard to differentiate between sites, they recommend 6 people for one site which I feel is a little less space if you have a car as well.

Local attractions

The Fleurieu Peninsula area is well-known for its secluded beaches and diverse wildlife, both of which can be found in abundance in the Coorong National Park, a 130-kilometre-long stretch of sand dunes and coastal habitats that starts 10 minutes' drive away at the Goolwa Barrage. One of the best ways to see the western edge of the park is on a guided kayak tour from the Murray Mouth Lookout (10 minutes). For more watersports, make your way to the waterfront in Goolwa (five minutes) to hire a jetski, or head for surf lessons and hire at Goolwa Beach (10 minutes). If you feel like sticking around, there’s Goolwa Wharf market (five minutes) on the first and third Sunday of the month, or you could organise a round at South Lakes Golf Club (10 minutes), a friendly club in a scenic waterside location. For a steam train ride along the coast, take the Cockle Train from Goolwa out to Victor Harbor (or drive there in 25 minutes), then walk or catch a horse-drawn tram along a causeway out to Granite Island for fantastic views over the ocean.
