  • Small family- and dog-friendly site with views over the Teifi valley
  • A five-minute drive from Newcastle Emlyn and 15 to Cenarth Falls
  • Poppit Sands, Llangrannog and Aberporth beaches reachable in 30 mins
Turn up in the Teifi valley for a Welsh welcome at Fron Rafel, a small family-run site spread over seven acres whose friendly vibes and helpful staff are as tiptop as the views of the countryside from the grounds. As well as being in a lush rural area in west Wales, this dog-friendly place is less than 10 minutes’ drive to the popular settlement of Newcastle Emlyn and 35 minutes from the family-friendly beach of Poppit Sands (lifeguarded in summer), so you can switch between coastal and town times with ease. Countryside explores are also prime around this park, with Cenarth Falls and its leaping salmon 15 minutes’ drive for waterfall hiking and sightseeing; for mountain biking and more walks, Brechfa Forest is within half an hour. Up for getting out on the water? A local adventure company can arrange canoe trips and other outdoor activities in the site's Carmarthenshire surroundings. If you fancy browsing the shops in Cardigan and Carmarthen instead, both are about half an hour from the park. Restaurants are dotted around these market towns as well as closer by and a well-stocked supermarket is within a couple of miles for picking up ready meals to warm up in the microwave back on base. Other amenities at the site include a newly restored piggery building with ladies’ and gents’ shower rooms and a family wetroom plus washing-up facilities and a toaster at one end of the block. The park also has your essentials sorted with a chemical disposal and two washing machines, free for guests to use.

2 bedroom static caravan

Liked: A wonderful peaceful site, the static was well set up especially for our dog with blankets to cover the sofas which made his stay comfy! There’s a great dog walk on site and an enclosed area to let them run off the lead. The owners were lovely ensuring we settled in but giving us space to relax. We even got to see the northern lights!

Disliked: Nothing

Liked: We liked everything about our stay. The caravan had everything we needed. It was lovely and clean as was the campsite itself. Location was great for what we needed. Communication with Kevin and Amanda was great along with Amanda's father. You can tell they pride themselves in providing a beautiful place to stay. We also had the pleasure of having a little visitor.

Liked: Enjoyed our stay at this site, had such a great welcome from the owners.

The campsite was very clean and well layed out, we had opted for a electric pitch for our tent and the connection and service was perfect.

Looking forward to staying again at this site, possible using the Yutz in the Autumn.

Would whole heartedly endorse this site, with it quite location and easy access.

2 bedroom static caravan

Liked: We stayed in the static caravan with our two younger children (aged 2 and 5). We honestly couldn't fault a thing! The caravan was clean, spacious and the bedrooms had beautiful views into the garden. Everything you needed was provided including extra's such as sandwich bags, tin foil, handsoap, washing up liquid, toilet rolls etc. Which I thought were lovely added touches especially as those are sometimes things you may accidentally forget to pack! The site itself is in a great central location for days out. The owners were helpful and lovely with ourselves and the kids. We will definitely be returning! Diolch! 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿
