Escape every-day life and slope off to peaceful Cydawell, a wild glampsite tucked into wildflower meadows and ancient woodlands on a sustainable farm 15 minutes’ drive from Carmarthen. Set in spectacular countryside, this tiny off-grid site pops up for a few weeks every year, and a stay should certainly help you rejuvenate and restore your mojo. As the accommodation is in a natty bell tent sleeping up to four guests, here you are surrounded by nature but still have some creature comforts. All bed linen is provided, and there’s storage and seating in the tent. Outside there’s a picnic area under the trees, an outdoor kitchen and a firepit for grilling up alfresco feasts. Soak up the calming ambiance of the place by forest bathing, wildlife spotting or paddling in the stream, and don’t forget that on clear nights the stars are waiting to give you dazzling celestial displays in some of the UK’s darkest dark skies. To access this wild off-grid site, park up and then walk across two wildflower meadows and over a stream; the hosts are more than happy to assist you get any heavy gear over to the site. They can also provide farm-to-table meals with fresh produce grown on site, and will happily fill you in on their eco-friendly slow productivity and regenerative farming practices.

  • Please note that the toilet facilities are unisex.
  • The campsite is accessed on foot over fields and a stream, approx. 500 metres from the parking area. The hosts are on hand to help transport luggage.

Route directions

The entrance to the farm is a narrow lane dropping down off the A484. Drive slowly up the track as farm animals may be loose. Park in the guest’s parking area; the owners will be there if they have your arrival time. Otherwise, please go to the farmhouse and they will guide you to the glampsite
