  • Peaceful Somerset escape at a family farm on the outskirts of Bath
  • Bath Racecourse five minutes’ drive and Bath Abbey 15 minutes
  • Off-grid site with showers; barbecue hut, sauna and hot tub all extra
Looking for a peaceful spot that’s handy for the historic sights of Bath? Off-grid Lansdown Campsite is set on a family farm in stunning countryside atop Lansdown Hill, with views over the city yet far enough away to be unaffected by its buzz. It’s also a clever choice if you’re weekending from London or Wales, as the site is only 15 minutes’ drive from Junction 18 of the M4. So what’s included with your stay? Modern showers and a washing-up area, drinking water and a communal firepit, which is lovely to cosy up around after days of exploration in Bath and Somerset. Luxurious amenities that come with an extra charge include a barbecue hut, sauna and hot tub. Dogs are more than welcome, and they can have a walk around the farm fields (please keep them on a lead). The site is right opposite Lansdown Park and Ride (catch Service 31 right into Bath city centre; it runs every 15 minutes), so you can abandon the car for the duration of your stay, and it’s also walking distance (around 20 minutes on foot) from Bath Racecourse and a couple of foodie pubs.

What customers say

Great base for Bath/Bristol with park & ride. John's a legend, showers are spot on. Pitches private, but some tents on slopes. Basic washing-up, road noise noted, but site's clean.

Unpowered grass tent site

Liked Fantastic camp site a stone's throw away from Bath. We stayed last weekend in summer and had the Park & Ride bus to and from the city center until 11pm as an added bonus. Great showers, clean toilets, lovely stay!

Unpowered grass caravan site

Liked The location is perfect for a visit to bath with the park & ride just over the road from the campsite. We stayed here 3 nights in our campervan, very chilled site that you can park where suits you & use as much space as you need.
Couple of pubs within walking distance & a small spa shop.
Will definitely be returning.

Disliked Toilets & showers were clean, but will definitely be better once the shower/toilet cubicle is separated for those only needing one or the other. Although there are 4 other toilets available. Not a deal breaker

Unpowered grass caravan site

Liked Very well situated campsite - Park & Ride into Bath just across the road (£3.40 return) pubs within walking distance with amazing views of the Avon valley and a spar shop round the corner too.
The site has secure PIN code entrance and lovely wide open grass pitches, all well maintained.
We camped during Bank holiday weekend and never had any problems using the showers, & toilets.
When you visit, bring marshmallows for the communal fire pit or your cozies for the sauna or hot tub (at a cost)
Thank you John for a cracking time away under the stars

Unpowered grass tent site

Liked Lovely quiet, clean and tidy site. Just nice and basic but in a good way, exactly what camping should be. Also bang opposite the park and ride to take you into the town centre was a bonus.

Disliked The fact we only be booked 2 nights 🥹
