What customers say
Great spot for a peaceful escape, with lovely riverside views. Hosts are super welcoming. Facilities are basic though – think composting loos and no showers – and some found extra costs unclear.

A beautiful and interesting site I'd love to return to.
Unpowered grass tent site
Liked The location was beautiful and unusual - far off the beaten path - and the host is both friendly and goes out of his way to make sure you're happily situated.
It's more rugged than a lot of campsites but that's a boon if you're looking for something closer to nature and closer to wild camping (but still has toilets).
The main site is surrounded on all sides by mature trees and the river runs right along where I chose to camp. It was such a nice experience falling asleep and waking up to the sound of the river and the birds I stuck around longer than planned.
As a lone female traveller I both enjoyed my stay and felt safe and able to approach the host if I didn't.

Peaceful camping with space, sauna, fires & a laid-back vibe
Unpowered grass tent site
Liked The owner was really friendly, helpful and accommodating. It’s a nice location to unwind and take a break from technology as there is no signal, there were not many other campers nearby and there was the option to choose a more remote camping location if required. There were plenty of fire pits, trampolines and a hot sauna available all day.
Disliked Not a dislike, but a heads up that the site feels wild and rugged, as there are no showers and only one working toilet during our visit. There were plenty of fun things to do but not all equipment is brand new.

Beautiful and rustic, looking forward to coming again.
Unpowered grass caravan site
Liked Wonderful location, truly beautiful. Incredibly helpful owner who couldn’t do enough to support. Lots of equipment to keep family entertained. Though we wanted a more private spot which was accommodated. The sauna was excellent and we’d highly recommend people get in the river to enjoy this. Have already recommended to friends and family.
Disliked It would have been useful to have a stand up washing up station eg a bowl on a table near the bowser.

Unpowered grass caravan site
Liked Amazing family who own the place. Extremely friendly and available to help where possible! The land was so beautiful and being next to the river was just the cherry on top. Had lots of communal areas to spend family time, and the sauna is an added bonus.
As a wheelchair user I find it hard to go to most places but here I felt welcomed and could relax nicely.
Lots of space to park up and pitch up where you would like to. Had such an amazing week there and can't wait to visit again next year.

Liked Amazing place. Amazing host. I loved continuous banter with him. Our dogs were delighted by freedom and happiness. River with wild brown trouts gave me a lot of fun. What to tell more. Green everywhere, birds, gentle sound of cristal clear river. I recommend in 100%.

Unpowered grass tent site
Liked Nice secluded area next to the river with table and fire pit area. The river and sauna were lovely. It was nice for a couple of nights but would be a prefect camping spot if the facilities were better!
Disliked Quite overpriced at £20pppn for the lack of facilities as there are no showers, only 2 longdrops which were quite a walk from our camp and the drinking water was moved on the last night so had no access to water in the morning.

Great place, just be aware of extra costs
Unpowered grass tent site
Liked Loved the wide open spaces, the river, and the sauna.
Friendly atmosphere, nice owners. Very relaxed.
Beautiful surroundings and perfect for our needs - portaloo in field, shared spaces to escape from rain. No taps but water contained provided.
No signal at the camp which suited us fine as its nice to be off grid but worth being aware of
Disliked Sauna not included in the cost of camping and this is not clear/obvious upon booking
Hot tub not in operation during our stay
