What customers say
Great spot! Clean facilities, super friendly staff. Well laid out with easy village access. A few reckon pitches are a bit close, and someone heard church bells.

Beautiful views and lovely area, but wouldn’t camp here again

Liked Views, facilities and friendly people
Disliked Sounds of road and car passing the camping pitches, pitches close to rubbish area that you could smell rubbish when outside your tent which was a real shame.

Liked Absolutely nothing
Disliked This campsite was a complete letdown and absolutely nothing like the “luxury camping” it claims to be. The ground is so sloped and uneven that parking and sleeping in a camper van was a nightmare. Totally uncomfortable and not fit for purpose.
The toilets were a portable block and located up an, uneven slope that was unsafe and ridiculous to walk to, especially at night.
The advertising is completely misleading and I was not the only one who felt this way. We were even given a pitch due to another camper leaving early, now I understand why. There is nothing good about this place at all. It felt neglected, run down, and a waste of money. Avoid if you’re looking for a proper camping experience.
I contacted the site but of course no response.

From the manager: Hi Tina,
Thank you for sharing your feedback. I’ve checked our correspondence and can confirm we’ve not received any contact from you prior to your review. We always respond to complaints and would have welcomed the opportunity to resolve your concerns during your stay, so it’s disappointing that this wasn’t raised with us at the time.
Our site is located in an AONB and the natural hillside can create some uneven ground. We provide chocks for guests who may need assistance and our team is always available day or night to help ensure you’re comfortable.
If there is any part of Pitchup’s listing that you feel is misleading, please let us know so we can review it and make corrections where necessary.
We’re a small business, and while we appreciate constructive feedback, we ask that comments remain fair and respectful. Our team work very hard to maintain the grounds and facilities. If you have any further concerns or suggestions, feel free to contact us.
Thank you for taking the time to share your experience.

Would definitely return - great spot for beaches and coastal walks.

Liked Location, sea views, very clean facilities, amazing pizza from the Italian on site and friendly and helpful staff.
Disliked (Though this isn’t controlled by Leonard’s Cove but FYI for light sleepers) the church bells ringing at least every hour throughout the night. Not a mega issue but suggest light sleepers bring ear plugs.

Great Place to Stay 🥰

Liked Location brilliant. Short distance from Blackpool Sands, Dartmouth Park & Ride, Sainsbury’s, Dartmouth Outdoor/indoor pool.
Also great layout with the tents overlooking the sea and then parking to the side (as was a little worried about having further to take stuff to and fro the car). Reception easy to check in and find tent pitch. Restaurant on site is lovely, but can be very busy.
Disliked There isn’t a playground or park for children. It would be 5 stars if they catered for children a little more.

Liked Such a lovely campsite - small and compact with the most wonderful views. Situated within easy reach of Dartmouth, in a quaint village with shop, pub, church (with pretty but not intrusive chimes every 15 mins and on the hour), onsite Thai food hut (yummy) and trattoria. Warm welcome at reception. Good pitch size, clearly marked out, with good access to electric hookup (labelled with our name) all pitches seemed to be on a very slight slope in various directions. Good shower/toilet facilities (signage slightly sun bleached so not too clear which loo block is for whom initially) - cleaned regularly and although height of season were never crowded and never had to wait our turn. Masses of bins in the waste collection area, which were clearly marked, although there didn’t appear to be a food waste bin (not sure if the local council collects this separately though).
Disliked Would like to have had a raised shower board in each shower to stand on (although always use rubber sliders on feet anyway), a shelf above the sinks for putting bits on whilst using, a hot water warning sign (water is always piping hot - great!), longer stay on for the push taps in the shower, and easier turn on and off for the sink taps (push on which stayed on too long sometimes but not easy to pull up to turn off, especially for young or arthritic fingers). The kitchen wash up area (with microwave and fridge) between the two loo blocks has 2 sinks but layout of the space is a tad cozy - clean most of the time but some campers don’t seem to like clearing their spaghetti out of the sink after washing up!
