What customers say

A chilled-out spot with good spacing, flat spots, and pretty country views. Clean facilities and hot showers get a tick. Hosts are friendly, animals and walks are a bonus. Bit patchy WiFi & BYO loo paper, but a top place for a quiet break.

Unpowered grass tent site

Liked Lovely site with large marked out pitches amongst meadow areas. We stayed for the Highland cattle and weren't disappointed! They're my favourite animals and we got to say hello to them all and see the little babies too. Really clean facilities. Lovely smelling soap provided by the hand washing sinks. Fantastic trollies for hauling your stuff from the car park. We didn't hire a fire pit but wish we had. It was a lovely atmosphere at night to see all the fires lit. Friendly owners. Look out for an email with the gate code for access! Close to Billingshurst for Lidl. Recommend Pulborough Paddles to hire paddleboards, kayaks or canoes. Also RSPB Pulborough Brooks is worth a visit. We only stayed for 2 nights but would like to come back for longer to explore the local area more. Great that it's adults only too so you know there'll be no noisy kids about. Made it more relaxed. I have a child so not against kids but this was a grown up break. Lovely starry skies.

Disliked Only negative was the lack of phone signal really but that's not the site's fault, of course! There was free WiFi but connected strength a little sketchy. Could be that were were too far away at the other end of the field. I didn't mind being disconnected but it was worrying for my auntie who cares for my elderly grandfather.

Also, you might want to bring earplugs as it's close to the Gatwick flight path and I found the planes quite loud whilst trying to sleep. But with my ear plugs in, I slept really well.

Unpowered grass motorhome site

Liked We liked the simplicity, the ease of access, the rustic looking but clean facilities, the hot showers, the large level pitches and the peacefulness of the site

Disliked We prefer a permanent building for washing, showering etc to be honest. This was ok but the toilets & showers are very draughty, we think that would not be comfortable in colder weather, ok this time as the weather was warm.

Unpowered grass motorhome site

2 cochons, quelques vaches. Nous n’avons vu au un personnel. Pas d’accueil. Que des codes par mail. Peut séduire certains mais pas bous.

Unpowered grass tent site

Liked We had such a lovely camping experience here! The site was very well managed with easy access, clean facilities, and even a freezer available – a real bonus in the hot weather. The trolleys provided to carry our things from the car park to the pitch made everything so convenient.

The campsite itself was peaceful, with everyone respecting quiet hours, and we really enjoyed using the fire pit (with logs available to buy) and having a BBQ in the evening.

The lady who manages the site is absolutely lovely and very friendly. She gave us great tips about the local area, including Arundel and its castle, which turned out to be a wonderful afternoon trip.

Overall, our stay was peaceful, relaxing, and memorable. We’d definitely come back!

Unpowered grass motorhome site

Liked Peaceful, easy-going, nicely maintained site with rustic but effective facilities. Level, well-spaced pitches.
Lovely rural location - quite remote so you need a vehicle or good walking boots to reach any pubs or shops.
Good communication prior to arrival - didn't meet anyone whilst there.

Local attractions

Hikers can tick off sections of the South Downs Way and walk up to National Trust-owned Devil’s Dyke (35 minutes’ drive) for views across the chalk escarpment of the South Downs National Park (20 minutes). To see a re-wilding initiative successfully at work, walk the permissive trails at Knepp Castle Estate (10 minutes). Exploring historic market towns couldn’t be easier. Petworth has a choice of indie shops in Georgian-era buildings, while Midhurst (35 minutes) has a photogenic mix of architecture from a Norman castle to half-timbered buildings. Stately Arundel (half an hour) is worth a trip for its castle and cathedral, and Chichester (40 minutes) is a clever rainy-day option thanks to the lively schedule at its renowned theatre. Down on the south coast, you’ve also got a choice of destinations. Get in the car and head to the beach at Worthing (25 minutes) for watersports galore and family cycle rides along the promenade. In lively Brighton, you can pick up antique bargains in The Lanes shops or take a guided tour of the colourful and ornate Brighton Pavilion.
