Liked: The fantastic location near to Thurstaston beach and Wirral Country Park. The campsite is large and open , there was plenty of space.
We enjoyed the freedom and were not cramped in like some other sites. The kids enjoyed the natural surroundings, going to the beach and the cafes close by.
We visited the pub up the road which was a pleasant walk through the picturesque village.
We travelled into Liverpool for a day out and caught the Mersey Ferry over , the Ferry terminal was only a short drive .
The site was fairly basic which we quite liked and that was reflected in the description and price.
The toilet was clean and had plenty of toilet paper. Arrival and departure was easy and the owner was friendly and informative.
Disliked: Nothing

Liked: It was alright! Toilet was clean and there was a bin for your rubbish.
Disliked: Health and safety risk.
There was an unlocked massive chain and pad lock on the gate that fell and hit my daughter on the head. Her head was cut and bruised. For this reason we’ll never stay here again.
£25 is also bit pricey for sleeping in a field with very little facilities. The camp site up the road offer the same price but with a £15 food voucher. If I’d have known I would have gone there.
There was no one around, no check in or out. Could have stayed there for free!

From the manager: Thank for your review
We are glad you liked our fantastic location and clean toilet and tidy Campsite.
We are constantly reviewing our pop up campsite and striving to make improvements, this is only our second summer open. We are trying to provide a service and area where people can go and enjoy the open country side and nature in peace , unfortunately this is not to everybody’s taste.
Owning and running a campsite is extremely expensive and that is probably why there are only two campsites on Wirral .
We constantly monitor our campsite and live in close proximity to it, we are always aware of who is coming and going !
Unfortunately you would never be permitted to come onto the campsite without booking and paying beforehand !
Hope you had a safe journey home.

From the manager: Good Morning,
Thank you for taking the time to post your review, we are sorry you had some issue with the toilet.
We are a pop up campsite and this is our first full summer.
Normally one toilet is sufficient for every week but we were very busy over bank holiday and in reflection could of done with two toilets for that week .
We will be revising our toilets for next summer to ensure there are no issues going forward.
The land was wetter than usual this summer and so when we cut the grass with the tractor unfortunately it did leave some tread marks . We do have many areas of flat land to pitch a tent and our campsite tries to be as natural as possible.
Kind Regards

Liked: No running water, no flushing toilet, one portaloo which on arrival was tipped over. No toilet paper, no Elsa’s point. No email to share entry procedures, got there gates look locked spent an hour trying to contact owners, eventually they come back to me and the gates are no actually locked but appear to be £25.00 for one night is far too much.

From the manager: Thank you for your review.
Sorry to here you had some issues .
There was a severe storm during the night and unfortunately the portaloo blew over. As soon as we realised we put it back in position. Some toilet roll blew out also, but there was some toilet roll left.
The gates were open and when we received your telephone call we instructed you what to do.
It does state on our advertising that we are pop up campsite, if we had all of the facilities you are referring to it would cost a lot more than £25 per night!
We always respond to calls and emails asap.
Kind Regards

Liked: Great condition of the field. Spacious enough, beautiful cafe 2 minutes walk down the road and gorgeous beach within walking distance from campsite. A pub up the road and lovely campers in the field. Great place.
Disliked: Perhaps more than one loo available would be good.

From the manager: Thanks you very much for your review. We are very lucky that our wonderful location is next to the beach, Country park , cafes and a pub nearby .
Hopefully see you again soon.
