  • Held at Bolesworth Estate, 25 minutes' drive from Chester
  • Entertainment, live music and activities for all included in the cost
Got plans for the late May bank holiday weekend? Fancy the idea of a music festival mixed up with a village fair and a good collection of outdoor activities… and all in a fabulously stylish setting? Sounds like you’re likely to have a whale of a time at ClubFest. Grab your pals, kids and dogs as part of your party, because this four-day festival in the Cheshire countryside is a welcoming and laidback event with a family-friendly atmosphere and plenty of entertainment for all. The main stage will host Lightning Seeds, Boyzlife and a fab programme of tribute acts to sing along to, and there are heaps of other activities to join in with too – think kids’ craft sessions, magic shows, funfair rides, pétanque tournaments, a fun run and a dog show, among others. All of the events across the festival (which runs from 23 to 27 May 2025) are included with your booking – and that includes the outdoor activities too. You’ll be able to have a go at things like canoeing, paddleboarding and axe throwing, or take a ride on a segway. Even though all the entertainments and activities are included, you’ll want to bring along some form of payment method, as the festival site is full of tempting shopping opportunities and food trucks, plus the popular festival bar, of course… All of this is set up in the gorgeous setting of Bolesworth Estate, a 19th-century property with sprawling grounds (including gorgeous gardens, woodlands and a lake) set around an elegant castle. The grass touring pitches all have electric hook-up and access to facilities including toilets and showers.

Local attractions

The various activities and entertainments of the festival are likely to fill most of your time here, but if you’ve got a few spare hours (perhaps before or after the main event), there are plenty of ways to fill those nearby. You’ll want to start with a wander around the estate, of course – it’s a lovely place for a gentle stroll. For a longer walk, the Sandstone Trail, a 34-mile route along the Sandstone Ridge, is close by, or you could explore local historic sites like Beeston Castle (10 minutes’ drive) and Bunbury Mill (15 minutes). After that you’ll certainly have earned a treat at The Ice Cream Farm (10 minutes). Other days out nearby might take you to BeWILDerwood Cheshire (10 minutes), to the adventure playground at The Crocky Trail (15 minutes) or to Chester (25 minutes) to explore the historic city and visit Chester Zoo.
