  • Holiday park in 52 acres with views to Scarborough and the North Sea
  • Scarborough 10 minutes’ drive; North Yorkshire Water Park 15 minutes
  • Dog-friendly pitches; clubhouse open weekends for drinks
Set in 52 acres of private grounds and woodland, Lady Edith’s Holiday Park is a peaceful spot to lay your head down for the night close to North Yorkshire’s popular coastline. At 10 minutes’ drive from Scarborough, the site has views to the North Sea on one side and the North York Moors National Park on the other. Whether you’re seeking an adventure, a quick fun-filled break or a quiet getaway just for two, there’s plenty on site to help you on your way. Keep any kids occupied in the play area – cleverly sited opposite the picnic area so you can watch them as you grill up a gourmet treat. The clubhouse on site serves breakfast on Saturday and Sunday mornings, and barbecue food on Friday and Saturday evenings. There's also a bar on site, open on weekends, should you fancy a pint. Four-legged companions travelling with you? There are miles of woodland trails in which to exercise them – and that’s without even leaving the holiday park.

Powered grass tent site

Liked Site looked good. Pitch sizes were good. Well kept site with no rubbish around and grass kept tidy. Play area on site. Friendly staff who go round during the day to make sure people are doing okay.

Disliked Electric hook ups were extension leads across the gravel into splitters which powered like 6 tents per 1 hookup. This caused numerous tripping and hot extension leads near tents.

Noisy neighbour campers. Playing loud music and shouting until 1.30am and no one to come round to tell them to be quiet.

Food was good
Reasonably priced drinks and food
Good entertainment in the clubhouse
Owner and staff very friendly

Disliked Some of the children of the long term residents were causing chaos throwing stones, spitting and bullying in the park area which upset a lot of children, their relative did tell them off for doing it

Liked Lovely clean site. Can’t fault the staff or cleanliness. The toilets and showers were always clean and always someone in cleaning them. Clean site

Disliked We went Wednesday-Friday. Only downfall was there was no food or entertainment during our time. Would have expected a bit more with it being the summer holidays

Liked The woods close by for a walk. 10 minutes drive to Scarborough town which is a lovely day out.

Disliked Not a whole lot to do. Definitely catered better for caravans rather than tents. Where the electric tent section was it’s a bit of a walk at night to use the toilet. Has a small playground for kids otherwise that’s it. Wouldn’t recommend for families. Unable to load photos

Unpowered grass tent site

Liked Great ground, good area to walk dogs. Toilet block and showers nice and clean. Powerful and hot showers. Good play park for kids.

Disliked Had to pay 20p per 2 minutes for showers. (But showers were good). Entrance to toilet block further away for campers in tents compared to those in caravans.

Powered gravel and concrete caravan site

Liked Really Great sized pitches on a well maintained park. Our caravan isn’t the smallest at 8ft wide and 8m long plus awning and we had more than enough space! Having read some recent reviews I was concerned about how loud or clean things would be but honestly I didn’t need to worry at all. Showers are 20p for 2 minutes and they were always hot and clean. 2 minutes in those showers was more than enough to clean a full sized adult or two small kids with time to spare. We stayed Sunday to Friday and the latest we heard any noise from outside was 10pm. May be different Friday/Saturday nights but for us it was perfect and quieter than other sites we’ve stayed on where you’d have noise til nearly midnight.
Toilets and showers always clean and plenty of hot water no matter the time of day.
No wifi but phone signal brilliant so not a problem at all unless you’re restricted on data usage. We managed to watch Netflix better than our home WiFi!

Disliked No shop on site but not a million miles from anything so no problem for us. Access road can be narrow and is relatively steep but having frequented the farm 20 years ago it is vastly improved to how I remember it!

Unpowered grass tent site

Liked This was a really nice site, pub open daily from 4 & the food at wkds was outstanding quality.
I absolutely loved the peacocks roaming freely.
Showers are so good I didn't want to get out. Was well worth having to pay 20p per 2mins.
Spacious pitches
Friendly owners at hand if needed
Park was brill for my grandson.

Disliked Toilets... they were disgusting, the lack of respect for others using them was so bad.
Not the owners fault though.
I had to clean it every time I went.
Maybe in the hut toilet a built in bin & some cleaning products (although they might get pinched)
Maybe have a little shop selling the essentials so we don't have to go offside for them

Unpowered grass tent site

Liked Lovely scenic site, helpful and friendly owners and staff, great location for getting to Scarborough and surrounding areas, shops a short drive away, clean and well kept facilities - toilets, showers.
There is a also a bar and entertainment at the weekend, as well as food served at the weekends.

Disliked Sometimes a little loud on weekends late into the evening.

Local attractions

Lively Scarborough (10 minutes’ drive) has a couple of long sandy beaches divided up by a rocky headland topped by the ruins of the town’s 11th-century castle. Have a potter along the prom in South Bay, and then head over to North Bay for views of the town and seascape. Kids in tow? Make for Peasholm Park (five minutes) to hire a pedalo on the lake, play mini-golf or feed the cheeky grey squirrels with peanuts sold on site. And Scarborough’s not the only family seaside resort in the vicinity. Head to Bridlington (35 minutes) for amusement arcades, high-speed RIB cruises from the harbour and fish and chips on the prom. Filey (20 minutes) is the place for feeding chattering birds in Filey Bird Garden and Animal Park, or taking long strolls along the sweeping sandy beach. There are bracing hikes to be had along the white cliffs of Flamborough Headland Heritage Coast (35 minutes), or sections of the long-distance Cleveland Way (10 minutes). If the kids have still got too much energy after that, let them loose on the inflatable climbing course at North Yorkshire Water Park (15 minutes).
