What customers say

Great spot, easy bus or walk to Stratford. Friendly staff, clean facilities (showers ace!). Pitches mostly good value, though some are close/sloping. Shop hours can be short. Lots want to come back!

Liked Very nice site, lovely views and close to Stratford, only a short bus ride into town. Friendly staff who took the time to come and speak to us. Clean toilets and showers. There is a big field at the entrance to the site which was ideal for letting the dog run and the kids to ride their bikes. Would stay here again.

Liked Location. i.e. Proximity to Stratford-upon-Avon and number 28 bus stop right by entrance. Efficient reception. Nice shower block.

Disliked The shop is only open for 90ish minutes each morning. Another site we visited that was of similar size, amalgamated the shop and reception and therefore guests had access to essentials most of the day. Perhaps Dodwell Park have not found the shop viable on a full time basis?

From the manager: Hi Christopher,
Thank you for your review and glad you enjoyed your stay ! but just to clarify there was a sign on the shop door that said open in the mornings and between Thursday through to Monday open 10am - 6pm by request and to just ring the door bell at reception and the wardens are more than happy to open :)
Many thanks

Good pitch sizes.

Disliked I felt the hand dryer and hair dryers could be updated as they’re not very efficient.

Liked It's a medium sized site nicely laid out. It has a useful shop and a lovely lady running it.
The loos and showers are all very good.
We had a 2 night stay meeting relatives and they arranged adjacent pitches for us.
There is an hourly bus which stops just outside the site so it's an easy trip to Stratford.

Disliked On our second evening we were plagued with power cuts every few minutes. Fortunately my son-in -law is technically competent and found a way to get it going again each time.

The next day we went to the CMC club site in Brecon and we had no problem with the electricity so the fault must be in Dodwell

Local attractions

To Stratford-upon-Avon first: see what the big deal is by catching a Royal Shakespeare Company play before a trip around town to the Shakespeare attractions; buy a Shakespeare Five House Pass to see Hall's Croft, Mary Arden's Farm, Nash's House and New Place and Shakespeare's Grave alongside Shakespeare’s Birthplace and Anne Hathaway’s Cottage. Many companies offer cruises along the Avon, but to save pennies take a trip on the old chain ferry for 20p, or stay on land and take the mile and a quarter route along the Avon for views of the Royal Shakespeare Theatre, Shakespeare’s burial place Holy Trinity Church and the Memorial Theatre Gardens. Scores of other walks can be had in the Cotswolds, the biggest Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty in England, with miles’ worth of footpath and bridleways broken up by small villages and market towns. The Cotswold Way runs 102 miles south from Chipping Campden to Bath and passes many historical houses and churches. After Warwick Castle, families can have a day out at the Ragley Hall Estate to get lost in the 3D maze, or go to Kenilworth Castle with its kids' audio trail covering the history of the castle and the lovelorn Robert Dudley who built it in the 16th century to impress Queen Elizabeth I. Kids will probably also like the gizmos at Stratford’s MAD (Mechanical Art and Design) Museum, Hatton Farm Village at Warwick or driving you nuts around the world’s biggest collection of historic British cars at the Heritage Motor Centre, which has the Land Rover Experience, a nature path and a playground.
