Paddock View unpowered grass and gravel tent or motorhome site

Liked Very peaceful site with friendly campsite owner. It's quite a quirky site with the shower in a stable. Also great toilet facilities. It has a relaxed vibe and in the heart of the shropshire countryside with loads to do in the area especially if you have a National Trust card e.g Attingham Park and great to see Shrewsbury which is delightful and interesting.

Wrekin View powered gravel motorhome site

Liked A true relaxing, beautiful camping experience!
Small (max 10 pitches) all with water and electric on pitch.
Very warm friendly welcome from Kate, beautiful surroundings, quiet, relaxing, plenty of room. Set in the grounds of a beautiful home - The Mill House.
Quirky fun showers (in a stable) clean toilet and grounds and excellent WIFI, fire pit available.
Simply a wonderful camping experience!

Disliked Nothing!
Nobody under 16 allowed, no hens/ stag parties so nice and peaceful!
When arriving there is no sign for Wrekin View, you need to follow the sign for The Mill House - Kate will send directions.

Paddock View unpowered grass and gravel tent or motorhome site

Liked Very warm welcome and showed me around the facilities which were excellent.
The whole site is superbly kept and tidy the shower was awesome and plenty of hot water no repeat pushing buttons is a treat. Walking around the site it’s lovely to see the slight elevated position above the various remnants of the water mill. Truly peaceful site and the night sky was brilliant to star gaze

Disliked Leaving.

Weir View powered gravel motorhome site

Liked Quiet location. Hot shower. Staff

Disliked Low power supply which would not run plug sockets.

Recommend to friends Visit again

From the manager: Hi Robert thanks for your review 😁😁

Slightly puzzled about your plug sockets not working when you're plugged in to our electric..... I've just been down in my motorhome on the same pitch you stayed on and just ran my hairdryer, air fryer and also charged my drone batteries all at the same time off the same low power supply.....

Potential campers reading Robert's review please take no notice this was obviously human error from Robert.

Thank you

River View powered grass tent, campervan or trailer tent site

Liked We had the most gorgeous one night stay at the stunning riverside pitch! We have never had such a private space with these amenities, to have a whole area to ourselves with a stunning view, electric, water and peace and quiet was really special. Kate and family were incredibly welcoming and made us feel incredibly comfortable. Also loved the quirky shower and lovely toilet.

Disliked Nothing, we hope to be back next year

River View powered grass tent, campervan or trailer tent site

Liked I’ve just had a wonderful three night stay at the very beautiful Wrekin View Retreat. The setting really couldn’t be better and my riverside pitch was a joy. Kate is just the perfect host; so lovely, friendly and thoughtful. I loved meeting Anne too and the gorgeous Twirly! I took so many photos of the site! I can’t list them all! The beautiful landscaping; immaculate loo and the quirkiest shower humming to a dance classic on the radio! I absolutely loved my stay here and hope to return. Thank you Kate for a perfect break. I’d highly recommend this beautiful campsite.

Liked Very friendly host, gorgeous plot of land and hillarious shower - loved our stay here and would definitey come back again. Us and our dog were made to feel so welcome. Only 15 minutes into Shrewsbury town which was handy. Thank you!

Disliked Nothing. There is only one toilet but this wasn’t an issue for us

From the manager: Thank you Shireen, lovely review and you are welcome to visit again anytime. We have two toilets not just the one, one at each end of the site, you were just nearer to the one toilet I showed you. 😀😀

Local attractions

The Wrekin can be seen from all around here and can be reached by car in about 10 minutes. There are paths up both sides of the hill, with one that's gentler on the knees and another rougher route for those that appreciate a good challenge. There are plenty more climbs, rambles and cycle rides on offer if you head 20 minutes or so to the south to the Shropshire Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty – Church Stretton (30 minutes) is always a good place to start. To the east is Telford (15 minutes) and Ironbridge (20 minutes), a UNESCO World Heritage Site with a proud industrial past. As well as the Iron Bridge itself, this scenic stretch of the Severn is home to sights as varied as Buildwas Abbey (20 minutes), museums dedicated to tiles and china (20 minutes) and Benthall Hall (25 minutes), a National Trust property. In the other direction, you have Shrewsbury town centre (15 minutes), where boat trips, history walks and independent shops are on offer. Alternatively, on the outskirts of town there are historic sites like Wroxeter Roman City (10 minutes), Attingham Park (10 minutes), a stately home with gorgeous grounds, and Haughmond Abbey (15 minutes).
