- Secluded spacious bell tents immersed in a natural forest setting
- In the foothills of the Catalan Pyrenees, 20 mins' drive from Solsona
- Beds made up and woodburning stove; communal kitchen and firepit
If you’ve ever fancied completely immersing yourself in the wilderness, but are less keen on the idea of roughing it – here's the place for you. Forest Days is a glamping site with all the trimmings, but it’s also got the adventurous atmosphere of a wild camp surrounded by forest in the foothills of the Pyrenees.
Proper peace and seclusion are the key concepts at this Catalonia site – there are just a handful of bell tents among five hectares of mountainside forest, each within its own private clearing. That means you’ll have plenty of space to sit and take in the experience (the sun streaming through the canopy, the swirling autumn mists, the rustle of the wind in the trees…) without coming across any of your neighbours.
There are plenty of ways to embrace your adventurous side around here – from big outings like gorge walking, wild swimming and kayaking to smaller-scale activities like tracking animal prints in the forest. Meanwhile, you can also indulge your luxury-seeking self with a stay in a bell tent that’s spacious, comfy and well equipped.
Each one has a woodburning stove (spring and autumn only) and tea- and coffee-making facilities. Outside is a picnic table, hammock, hanging chair and deckchairs, and adjacent to each tent is an exclusive-use eco-bathroom with composting toilet and basin. If you’re after a hot shower, head to the communal Shower Shed, which also has charging points.
Prepare meals in the Forest Kitchen, a shared space with gas stoves, barbecues and washing-up facilities. You can store bits and bobs in the adjoining pantry, where there’s also a small honesty bar and a fridge for your fresh food.
There are a few shops and restaurants dotted around the local area but the nearest sizeable town is Solsona – 20 minutes’ drive away and a good place to source food and the like.
