In pursuit of a pretty glamping tent in which to spend your free time, with silky beaches and typical Cadiz towns a short car ride away? Simple – lay your head down at TAIGA Tarifa. Settled into one of the cosy and quiet glass-fronted wooden tents, your free time will certainly be well spent at this glamping site in Cadiz… Here, a typical morning routine might consist of a brief freshen-up in the private indoor or outdoor bathrooms provided with each tent, followed by brisk walk to the local beach (and a dip or a kitesurfing session) to awaken the muscles. The aforementioned beach, Playa Valdevaqueros, is only a 10-minute walk away from the site. It’s well-known for its superior kite-surfing conditions, but the scenery is also spectacular. There are sand dunes and views of the entire Strait of Gibraltar, as well as Morocco’s coast. Restaurants and bars line the beach area for those times when you feel like finding a bite to eat. There are more eating-out venues in the coastal town of Tarifa, a 10-minute drive away, and Bolonia, a 15-minute drive away. Each of the safari tents has a splendid set of facilities, including a mini fridge, water dispenser, bedding, towels and clothes hangers. The prime spot in the evening might be the outdoor area outside of each tent, which has a dining table and seats (sunset drinks, anyone?)

Liked: Las instalaciones, la disponibilidad del personal, el horario flexible para realizar el check in, que permitan perros pero que se les obligue a estar atados, que puedas solicitar lo que necesites al personal (platos, toallas extra, cubiertos, etc) y te lo dan sin cargos extra.

Disliked: Deberían aspirar el suelo de las cabañas al limpiar (no solo barrer) y el lavavo del baño, al ser de madera (así como algunas zonas de las paredes bajas de la ducha) tenía algunas zonas con moho, quizas cambiar la madera por otro material mas resistente a la humedad (o algún recubrimiento)

Local attractions

When you’re not taking in the scenery from Playa Valdevaqueros, take yourself to Tarifa (20 minutes’ drive). The Cadiz town is at the very south of the breezy Iberian Peninsula, so windsports and surfing are part of the watersports culture here; many shops rent out equipment or provide classes for complete beginners. From Tarifa, the keen wildlife watchers among you can book yourself a spot on a whale-watching boat headed onto the Strait of Gibraltar. Fin, pilot and orca whales are often spotted in the water, and if you’re not lucky, the views of Morocco should please anyway. In the opposite direction to Tarifa, guests can easily get to Bolonia (15 minutes). This small beach village was once a fishing and farming village, and the gorgeous sandy bay has developed a big fan base. Plus, the village has an archaeological site named Baelo Claudia, which is the remains of a Roman town.
