- Secure dog-friendly site with public transport close by
Pretty much right in the middle of Romania, Brașov is a popular and convenient base for all sorts of activities, whether you’re planning to explore the atmospheric city itself, head up into the surrounding mountains or take day trips to places like Bran Castle.
If you’re travelling in a touring vehicle, CamperPark Brașov is a very handy location for an overnight stop or a longer stay – about two miles from the city centre, the serviced pitches have easy access to local supermarkets for supplies and public transport options for your outings.
These hardstanding pitches are designed with the needs of tourers in mind – each one has water, electric and drainage hookups, and shared facilities include a chemical disposal point and a motorhome service point. You’ll also have access to a wifi connection, a laundry area and bathrooms with toilets and showers. The whole place is accessed via a security gate with a pin code, so you should feel nice and safe while staying here.
From this site you’ll easily be able to get into the city centre to explore all its historic attractions and try out its bars and restaurants – and there are attractions handily close by too, such as the waterpark 10 minutes’ walk away.

Local attractions
Brașov itself has plenty to explore, so take your time here – perhaps take a walking tour of the Old Town, visit the imposing (and huge) Black Church and see if you can squeeze through Strada Sforii, said to be Europe’s narrowest street. There are lots of great places to eat as well, and if you have time you can explore the city’s outer areas, looking out for things like Romania’s first school in the Schei district.
The city is surrounded by the Carpathian mountains, and there are several ways to explore some of this rugged scenery, including winter skiing and summer hikes. Mount Tâmpa, on the edge of the city centre, is an easy place to start – a trail runs up through the forest or you can ride up in style on the cable car.
Further out into the surrounding area, you can see rescued bears getting back to the wild at Libearty Bear Sanctuary (35 minutes’ drive) or come face to face with creatures of the past at Dino Parc Râșnov (25 minutes). Bran Castle (half an hour), the inspiration for Dracula, is a must-see – and if you need to cool off, try the slides at Aquatic Paradise (10 minutes’ walk).
