For a spectacular location, lots to do and sheer convenience, Maslinica Resort Rabac - Camping Oliva surely has to be a top contender for Istrian camping holidays. Set within a large resort on a sheltered inlet of the Adriatic Sea with views to the Kvarner Islands, the site has lots of sporty stuff going on and loads of handy amenities to ensure that adults get a relaxing holiday as well as their kids. Well-maintained grass pitches sit neatly under the shade of olive trees, so you get to stay cool during the day, and all are handily equipped with electricity and water. Spotless bathroom facilities with hot showers are a short stroll away, there’s a launderette and washing-up area too, so everyone (and everything) can stay spick and span on site. Active families can play tennis and mini golf, and there’s a multipurpose field for football, basketball or volleyball challenges, while toddlers can wear off energy at the playground. With direct access from the campsite, Rabac Bay’s pebble beach and shallow waves also beckon with a floating aqua park just offshore, plus boat hire, dinghy sailing and paddleboarding within 15 minutes’ walk. You can also use the outdoor pool within the hotel complex for free, while the indoor pool and wellness spa are both open to campsite guests for an additional fee. Barbecues are allowed on site – there’s a small food shop for essentials – but if you’d rather dodge any cooking and give yourselves a real break from everyday chores, check out the resort’s terrace restaurants, pizzeria and bars overlooking the sea.

Disliked: C’è poco controllo entra chi vuole purtroppo la gente ne approfitta .
Manca organizzazione se si arriva la sera per il giorno dopo. Manca a mio dire un servizio bus navetta per andare a labin (Albona).

Disliked: Worst place I've ever stayed. Should have been for 5 nights. Walked off the site after the first night. Given a pitch in an all residential area. As soon as we arrived they started blast music which went on all night. Constant intimidating behaviour. The electric that we where assigned was taped up by the locals, same for the water. Olive tree which was for give shade was tiny but right in the middle of a very small pitch. Complained to reception staff who couldn't have cared less.

Whole place was dirty and far too many people in such a small space. Walked past an empty condom wrapper at one point.

Advertised as dog friendly yet it's anything but. Asked at check-in if there was any restrictions, answer was no... However you cannot take the dog to the beach at all. not allowed any of the common areas.

Seriously, don't stay here.

Disliked: Pet friendly solo sulla carta, col cane non si può andare in spiaggia (nonostante alla reception ci avessero detto di sì inizialmente) se non nella parte del molo dove c'è la discesa per l'entrata in acqua delle barche, per entrare sono scivolata sul cemento a causa delle alghe. Se come noi si hanno figli e cane è impossibile coniugare le attività tutti insieme, non ci sono aree vicino ai giochi o alle piscine dove poter stare col cane. Moltissime piazzole (la maggior parte) non hanno ombra sufficiente, la nostra aveva due ulivi talmente bassi e non potati che a fatica ci potevi passare sotto. Inoltre la piazzola era in mezzo alle roulotte degli stanziali che liberamente facevano quelli che volevano senza nessun intervento da parte della direzione, occupavano più spazio di quello a loro dedicato, schiamazzi fino a mezzanotte e oltre, barbecue vicino alla nostra tenda, una sera rientrati dopo cena abbiamo trovato la nostra tenda coperta di cenere.
Non vale assolutamente il prezzo pagato!

Liked: De locatie van de camping is goed, binnen 5 minuten zit je op een leuk strand (hoogseizoen heel erg druk). Ook de zwembaden zijn heel dichtbij. Tip: loop de boulevard op en boek een bootreis, wij namen de sunset dolphin tour van 2,5 uur en hebben veel dolfijnen gezien en bet is prachtig de ondergaande zon tegemoet varen!

Disliked: De plekken zijn heel erg klein met vaak een boom midden op een plek. Het is ontzettend druk en je zit op elkaar. We zouden een grote llek toegewezen krijgen nav meerdere mailtjes met onze camperbus incl tent. Dit was een valse belofte. Ook de prijzen van de campingwinkel zijn uitzonderlijk hoog. Om 8 uur zijn de broodjes op, dus je moet er vroeg bij zijn.

Local attractions

Walkers and mountain bikers can soon be on the numerous hiking and cycling trails that wend their way along the coastline, or explore further afield on routes leading to waterfalls and clifftop fortresses in Učka Nature Park (20 minutes’ drive). If you’re looking for more high-impact pursuits, head straight for Istria Adventure (half an hour) to go off-roading through the rugged coastal landscape on quad bikes. Options for cultural days out with the kids include a scenic stroll around the Park Skulptura Dubrova (15 minutes), scattered with more than 70 contemporary installations by famed Croatian artists, and the chance to practise archery and cuddle friendly donkeys at Sanc Michael Medieval Theme Park (45 minutes). For some adult pottering time, the brightly coloured houses and winding cobbled streets of hilltop Labin (10 minutes’ drive) date from the Middle Ages. Poke around shops and art galleries, climb up to the ancient Fortica for views to Cres Island and Rabac Bay, or tour the Town Museum with its exhibits on the town’s former mining industry. Hit the town in July and August for the concerts, exhibitions and street-art events during the Labin Art Republic festival.
