If your remit is proximity to Eryri National Park and plenty of room for the kids to run around, Tyn Rhos Caravan Park in rural Gwynedd is the site for you. Super-spacious grass and hardstanding pitches have stunning views to the peaks of Eryri (20 minutes’ drive), and are set around the perimeter of a two-acre camping field, leaving the centre open for recreational use and exercising any dogs. The site is set on a family-run beef and dairy farm with a free-range herd; the milk is sold to produce Welsh cheese and butter. Amenities for guests include showers with ample hot water, a washing-up room and a freezer pack service; barbecues are welcome but there are a couple of pubs and takeaways in Bontnewydd (10 minutes) if you’re not a lover of alfresco cooking. Tyn Rhos farm is 10 minutes’ drive from the historic royal town of Caernarfon and its impressive castle, and within easy distance of the Llŷn Peninsula, Eryri and Anglesey for family days out. You can be on Dinas Dinlle Beach, walking along the estuary at Y Foryd or pedalling along the Lôn Eifion Cycleway within 10 minutes too.

The site does not accept breeds/crossbreeds listed in the Dangerous Dogs Act (i.e. XL Bully, Pit Bull Terrier, Japanese Tosa, Dogo Argentino, and Fila Brasileiro).
The site caters for families (immediate members) and couples only - bookings from all other forms of groups are not accepted.
Continental touring caravans (caravans built with the passenger door on the right-hand side) are not permitted.
Reception is unmanned after 8 p.m.. Please inform the site while on your way there should you expect to arrive after this time, so that the team can provide information about your unit/pitch.
A cable measuring at least 6 metres is needed for the electric hook-ups.
Guests are advised to bring a good quality torch with them as parts of the site are unlit.
Bookings must not consist of more than 2 different households.
The charging of electric vehicles is not permitted on site.

Liked: Lots of privacy and space between campers on site, friendly owner and very clean toilet facilities. Also the cutest farm dog we've met.

Disliked: Lack of sign postage for black and grey water disposal facilities, smell from septic tank was a bit overwhelming at times even when far away from it.

Liked: Absolutely amazing, from start to finish. Warm welcoming, polite, friendly, great pitch.Toilet block was always clean. OMG the shower was fantastic, pot wash station was in the ladies, which I was made up lol. Wife took girls in with her.

Liked: The site was lovely and clean, shower block and toilets immaculate and very welcoming site.

Disliked: The thought the quiet hours (8pm) were a tad early. Took a projector and screen for a movie but it didn’t go dark enough until after the quiet hours.
Tried playing games (badminton and football) with the kids and both games were spoilt by the on site dog who although only wanted to play, kept stealing the shuttlecock and popped the ball (the owner did pay towards a new one)

Please note, pup tents are to be used for storage purposes only. Guests may not use them for sleeping.

Radio, music and TV players must be kept at a low volume. Car doors and boots must be closed quietly.
