  • Adults-only glamping site in Somerset
  • On the edge of the Blackdown Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty
  • Hot tub and firepit for each unit; a pair of bicycles available
Fancy stargazing in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, cycling in the Blackdown Hills and spending evenings in a private hot tub? If your answer is a big ‘yes’, you’re in the right place with Tone Valley View Glamping. This adults-only glamping site is well-suited for a romantic getaway with plenty of creature comforts. There are views over the Tone Valley, so there’s a scenic backdrop at all times, and your tent has a partly clear roof for some splendid stargazing. Each tent has access to its own personal stable, a short walk down a stone path (the site has provided a lantern for trips at night-time). The horses have been moved out and replaced with a bathroom (including a shower, toilet, sink and towel rack) and kitchenette (including a fridge with an ice box, a sink, twin hot plate, toaster and kettle) – no sharing involved. There are lots of walks and bike rides nearby. After your day out in the Blackdown Hills, take a soak in the private hot tub or roast something tasty over the firepit (you'll be provided with wood, fire starters and matches at the start of your stay, and there are more bundles of wood and firestarters available for a small cost in the stable). At the end of the year, for every five bundles brought, the site funds the planting of one tree through the National Trust. There are also lots of wildlife-friendly hedges around the place. The site also uses solar power and a power station (like a big power bank) runs the lights and charging points (limited to 350W at any time, so just enough for phones or tablets, but not kettles).

Please note
  • Guests under the age of 18 are not allowed on site.
  • If making a fire, the fuel, logs and coal have to be purchased on site.
  • The hot tub will need to be lit and heated by you during your stay. This will take between three and four hours when it is cold. The site can pre-light the hot tub and bring it up to temperature before your arrival on day one; an additional cost applies for this service.

What customers say

Beautiful valley views and a peaceful stay are a big hit. Hosts are friendly and helpful. Hot tubs are a real treat, though some found cleanliness issues and confusing info on heating/electricity. Watch out for wobbly hot tub steps and a hidden electric fence.

Liked First time for both of us glamping. Tone Valley View Glamping is set with beautiful views and an amazing hot tub. It was lovely peaceful setting and the hosts made you feel very welcome and were nearby if you needed anything. The tent was set up beautifully and you could stargaze through there too!

Liked We have just stayed for 2 nights in Flicker. We have really enjoyed our stay. The bed and bedding was super cosy and we slept extremely well. The kitchen and bathroom facilities were great and had everything we needed for our stay. There are extras which you can purchase online. We did buy the fire starter pack, extra wood, flame colour changers and sheep feed. This was easy to do on the website. The heating of the tub was easy as well and Jimmy showed us how to do it. We didn’t need to heat the inside of the tent as it pleasantly warm during our stay but all the supplies were there if we wanted to. Jimmy was extremely polite, friendly and happy to help. Thank you for our pleasant stay, we would definitely stay again!

Liked A lovely warm welcome from Jimmy, who showed us around our facility. Absolutely amazing views, such a quiet place to unwind and soak in the hot tub. Really impressed with how well the old horse stables were done up so we could have our own shower, loo and little kitchenette. We also enjoyed a weekend dessert box from a local patisserie which was delivered straight to our tent 🏕️

Liked Everything!

The host was very welcoming and explained everything to us and showed us around. The hot tub was warm and ready to go (it was an additional charge but so worth it). We had our own kitchenette, toilet and shower. Everything you can think of needing was there. Even an air fryer ! The tent was so cute with personality from lamps, fans and even a hot water bottle!

Have already booked for my brothers and his wife for a gift and recommended to several people. We will deffo be returning

Disliked Previous review! THIS IS NOT A SCAM. (FYI spiders are part of nature and it’s their environment -expect them and respect them!)

Local attractions

Shake things up – an alternative to hiking or biking is visiting the local horse-riding centre (half an hour’s walk). If you prefer two feet to hooves, there are plenty of new terrains to tackle. The Quantock Hills (35 minutes’ drive) has trails taking in coast, wild heathland, oak woods and ancient parklands. An Elizabethan beacon is the prize view after an uphill climb to Culmstock Beacon (20 minutes). Tick off another monument at the Wellington Monument (45 minutes) too. Got a taste for upbeat activities? Practise your watersports at Wimbleball Lake (45 minutes) or sharpen up your trampolining skills on the wall-to-wall trampolines at Flip Out Somerset (five minutes). Axe Valley Wildlife Park (half an hour) is on hand for animal fans, with chipmunks, flamingos and zebras among the residents.
