  • A Secluded Escape on the Edge of Dartmoor
Welcome to Dartmoor Camping—a peaceful hideaway nestled on the edge of Dartmoor. With four secluded woodland pitches and four spacious meadow emplacements, this is a place to switch off, slow down, and soak up the sounds of nature. Think birdsong with your morning coffee, owls calling through the trees as you drift off to sleep, and the crackle of a campfire under a sky full of stars. Set within private woodland and open pasture, the campsite has been kept simple and natural to preserve the landscape and let nature take centre stage. There’s no electricity and minimal facilities—just quiet, space, and the freedom to reconnect with the land around you. Keep your eyes peeled—deer are often seen moving quietly through the trees at dawn and dusk. You can even bring your horse—paddocks are available, and there’s direct access to bridleways and open moorland right from the campsite. Facilities include compost loos, off-grid outdoor showers, and two washing-up stations. Drinking water is available on site, and each pitch has a fire pit—perfect for cooking, warmth, or just gathering around as the day ends. Firewood is available to buy, or you're welcome to bring your own. We keep the pitches few and far between to ensure peace and privacy, and well-behaved dogs are welcome too. While it may feel a world away, Dartmoor Camping is only a short drive from the local village of South Brent and offers direct access to bridleways and trails leading up onto the open moor. Walkers, riders, wild swimmers, and stargazers—you'll find your rhythm here. Come for the stillness, stay for the magic. This is camping, Dartmoor style.
