  • Peaceful pop-up Devon campsite 10 minutes’ drive from Barnstaple
  • Exmoor National Park 15 minutes’ drive; Woolacombe beach 20 minute
  • Fly fishing for trout, wild swimming and dog walks available on site
Set in a Devon valley and surrounded by mature trees, River Bank Camping has a wonderfully peaceful location by the side of Bradiford Water, which is fed by spring water from Exmoor National Park, 15 minutes’ drive away. This pop-up site has fully serviced pitches and accessible modern shower facilities a short walk from the camping fields. Anglers can fly fish to their heart’s content on the trout lake, or cut out the middleman and buy fresh or smoked fish from the on-site Blakewell Smokehouse. Wild swimmers may like to take a dip early in the morning or evening, and as dogs are welcome on site, you can walk them on public footpaths all along the river and through the woods. Just please keep them out of the fishing lake. The lively market town of Barnstaple is 10 minutes’ drive away, with all its foodie shops, pubs and restaurants, while glorious Devon surfing beaches like Woolacombe and Saunton Sands are less than half an hour by car.

Fully-serviced hardstanding and grass motorhome pitch

Liked: Very nice location, there is a road nearby and planes do fly overhead but neither bothered us.
The level pitches were laid out very well with enty of space between.
The shower and toilet are communal but both were spotless with plenty of hot water.
The Family took time to show us around and explained about the fish and the projects they were involved in, encouraged to walk around the site and enjoy the surroundings, with lots of wildlife to see.
This is a new site with plans for further showers to be installed.
Free WiFi was a nice touch.
Beautiful site and a place to want to return to again.
Suited us for a relaxing break.

Disliked: Nothing

Fully-serviced hardstanding and grass motorhome pitch

Liked: Picturesque setting, peace and quiet, good facilities, kind and helpful owners, secure site, level
pitches. We hope to visit again soon.

Disliked: I think we were one of the first guests as it’s a brand new site. They’ve not got any signage or site information up yet. It was a bit of struggle to find and in an area with poor mobile phone signal was a bit challenging contacting the owners. Would recommend to them that they should send out information and directions to campers in advance.
