Lake District walks by day and a cosy place to stay by night– if that sounds like just what you've got in mind, take a look at Windermere Luxury Camping Pods.
This Cumbria glamping spot is part of a traditional working farm in the village of Winster, with stunning views of the Lyth Valley and the Lakeland mountains. It's a nifty spot for a Lake District getaway, with animals to see, numerous walking trails around the farm (particularly lovely for a little sunset stroll…) and the amenities of Bowness-on-Windermere (pubs, restaurants and shops among them) about five minutes' drive away.
That location puts you within easy reach of all sorts of activities including hiking, climbing, fishing, watersports and golf, plus attractions like The World of Beatrix Potter Attraction and the National Trust’s Hill Top.
But while the location is an enviable one, it's not the only selling point for this place. The pods are just as lovely, with spectacular views from the deck (which has a barbecue for a bit of scenic outdoor cooking). Each pod has a shower room, a TV and a kitchen (with hob, oven, microwave, fridge-freezer and all the utensils). Luxury bed linen and towels (and a few welcome treats) are included, and wifi and underfloor heating are handy extra touches.

Under 18s must be accompanied by their parents or legal guardians.- The site does not accept breeds/crossbreeds listed in the Dangerous Dogs Act (i.e. XL Bully, Pit Bull Terrier, Japanese Tosa, Dogo Argentino, and Fila Brasileiro) and/or any of the following: Staffordshire bull terrier, American Staffordshire terrier, Rottweiler, any Mastiff or Tosa.
- No hen/stag parties permitted via Pitchup.com.
- Guests under the age of 2 are not allowed on site.
- The site caters for families (immediate members) and couples only - bookings from all other forms of groups are not accepted.
- No naked flames are allowed inside the hired accommodation units.
