  • Small, peaceful farm site with fishing on the England/Wales border
  • A 10-minute drive from the Forest of Dean; 15 minutes to a Go Ape site
  • Good base for mountain biking; bar and café on site
Settle in for an afternoon's fishing and look out for wildlife like deer, rabbits and birds, all in a lovely Welsh/English border locale among old oak trees and Neolithic stones… welcome to Broadstone Park. This is a small, peaceful and family-run site between the market towns of Monmouth and Coleford, named after those Neolithic stones and in an area with plenty of options for walking, cycling and other outdoorsy activities. Indeed, the site is well-liked among the mountain biking community. A small spring-fed coarse fishery is on site for guests' use, stocked with carp, rudd, perch and bream and open daily from dawn to dusk. There's also a bar and a café on site for easy refreshments. Other facilities at Broadstone Park include a toilet and shower block.

Electric optional grass pitch

Liked: Great site overall! Pub on site with cheap drinks which is always a win! Lovely little fishing lakes, husband and daughter went and had a lovely time. Huge pitches. So much space for the kids to run. Animals on site is a great idea to keep the kids entertained and distracted. They look well looked after too which is so important. Lovely walk on site in the woodland. So nice for the kids to explore and dogs to run in the woodland walk! Friendly staff. Lovely pizzas.

Disliked: Toilets could have been so much cleaner. Soap not topped up, my husband was asked to top up the toilet rolls by a member of staff as she didn’t want to go into the men’s toilets (can’t say I blame her!), floor always dirty even after been mopped. Could be helped with a mop or squeegee in the toilet for guests to use after the shower.

Electric optional grass pitch

Liked: We’ve stayed at Broadstone quite a few times now and it is always such a wonderful stay; the most warm and welcoming staff, so much space between and around the pitches, beautiful scenery, a lovely park for the children, a bar that serves the most delicious pizzas and has such a great atmosphere, fire pits to hire, pay what you use electricity, dishwashers, lovely warm showers, near to local mountain biking trails, a lovely family environment, no light pollution so a beautiful starry night sky, the list honestly goes on and on. It’s our favourite campsite and we will be coming back here again and again!

Local attractions

Straight from the rear of the site are several woodland walks, one of which takes guests past the Broad Stone after which Broadstone Park was named. Others cover part of Offa's Dyke and walks to Monmouth, the River Wye and local viewpoints like famed Symonds Yat: ask the site team for their faves to follow. Also in the area are heritage options like Caldicot Castle and the Clearwell Caves, and the buildings and pleasure grounds of the Kymin, highly praised by one Admiral Nelson (take the trek up to the Round House for the best views). Many other walks, cycle paths and swinging around in the trees at Go Ape are in the Forest of Dean, easily accessible from the site, and both Monmouth and Coleford are around 15 minutes' drive away for more urbanised days out.
