What a spectacular Piemonte place – and with a Finnish sauna and the means for massage on site too. (This is very much the time to flick through the stunning site pics.) Camping Village Yolki Palki is a quiet retreat in the Province of Verbano-Cusio-Ossola, with spectacular woody and mountainy views, in a heavenly spot for walkers and wildlife watchers, and in top stargazing land because of the area's dark skies and light pollution. Round and about, the site is also only about 14 kilometres from the city of Domodossola and 50 minutes from excellent Lake Maggiore, for days out city breaking, mountain biking, boating and island hopping – once you've extracted your self from the on-site Finnish sauna or massage table, of course. Other facilities include a TV room, a games room and a play area, alongside modern and well-kept amenities of a toilet and shower block and a laundry room. Bikes and e-bikes can be hired too, and guests can avail themselves of a special discount on trips to the nearby Oniro thermal pool. And would you like a topping recommendation for an activity or two on site here? After a long and lovely day among the local landscape, settle down at the Yolki Palki restaurant for a good selection of good-sized portions of traditional mountain cuisine – and then relocate to your lodge balcony for some stargazing and a sup under the Piemonte skies.

Liked: We were very impressed with this location. Very friendly. The facilities were very very clean. Very well kept, modern. Well organized. Too bad that we only stayed for one night. The drive up the mountain was fun with many switch backs. Just take your time. Highly recommend.

Liked: Wat een geweldige camping! Wij komen hier zeker nog een keer terug.
Het ziet er in het echt nog veel mooier uit. Midden in de bergen en de natuur met een prachtig uitzicht vanaf de camping en tal van wandelingen in de buurt. Het is heerlijk rustig en je wordt omringt door natuurgeluiden en een prachtige sterrenhemel! Het meest vriendelijkste personeel dat wij ooit zijn tegengekomen (echt een plus!) en ook nog een restaurant waar ze echt goeie koffie en andere lekkernijen serveren. Het is wel een ritje omhoog met veel haarspeldbochten maar doordat de faciliteiten zo goed zijn en er veel te doen is in de omgeving maakte dat ons echt helemaal niet uit. Wij verbleven 5 nachten met onze tent en waren veel liever langer gebleven! Jammer dat deze camping kort geopend is, wij houden ook echt van voor-en najaar kamperen.

Disliked: Enige minpuntje vonden wij het sanitair. Dit was goed/nieuw, de douche was super lekker. Je moest 1€ betalen, wat wij prima vonden. Alleen het werd echt niet goed of regelmatig schoongemaakt, echt onfris, de douchetijd was kort (3 min), als vrouw met lang haar is dit best ingewikkeld, soms werd de douche uit het niets heel heet en het wc-papier was regelmatig op. Maar dit lijkt ons gemakkelijk op te lossen? Het is voor ons geen reden om niet terug te komen. Camping blijft geweldig! ❤️

Liked: Campeggio bellissimo con ottimi servizi, molto ordinato e pulito, abbiamo soggiornato una settimana in uni chalet e anche sfruttando una piazzola per un camper. Entrambi completo di tutto, ben tenuto e confortevole.
Posizione ideale per escursioni nelle montagne o chi cerca un soggiorno di pieno relax. Personale simpaticissimi e attenti alle esigenze dei Clienti. Consigliatissimo!!

Disliked: Il segnale WiFi è scarso e funziona male nei perimitri/recinti estremi del capeggio... La strada per arrivare per un camper non è ideale, è una strada di montagna pieno di curve alcuni anche strette anche se pienamente fattibile con la dovuta cauzione e attenzione.

Local attractions

This is gorgeous mountainous and lake-filled land, with many options for hiking, biking, climbing, mountaineering, caving and rafting all nearby. Camping Village Yolki Palki is also close to the waterfalls, small lakes and pastures of the Bognanco Valley, one of the Ossola valleys that make up the biggest wilderness area in Italy. Watersports, lakeside walks and more spectacular scenery can all be had at the lakes of Maggiore and Orta, both within easy driving distance. The famed medieval quarters of Domodossola are a short drive away; from town, a much recommended option is taking the handsomely scenic Domodossola–Locarno or Centovalli railway over the border to Switzerland, via a 52-kilometre route passing Santa Maria Maggiore and Cavigliano to wind up at the Swiss station of Locarno. This area is also famed for its thermal springs, so take in some of the tasty drinking water as well as having a day out in one of the many local wellness centres and spa hotels open to the public.
