A warm welcome – plus regional aperitifs and local cheeses – awaits at Csongrád Nagyrét Glamping, an ‘agrocamping’ farm site 25 minutes’ walk from the town of Csongrád across an ancient wooden bridge on the Tisza RIver. Surrounded by greenery and vineyards, it’s also about 10 minutes’ drive from a popular river beach at the confluence of the Tisza and Körös rivers. At this peaceful place, guests can soak up the sun in hammocks, steam gently in the sauna, book treatments and massages at the spa and swim a few laps of the indoor or outdoor pools. If more activity is required, then you have the chance to get straight out onto forested hiking trails, or follow the meanders of the Tisza upstream. There’s a simple shared kitchen and a covered barn for dining in the shade, as well as picnic tables scattered about the property. You can pre-order breakfast, and all the essentials are there for a restful holiday – a washing machine and dryer, super-clean bathrooms with hot water in the showers, plus swings and a paddling pool for younger guests.

Friendly, hospitable hosts offer great food and extras. Campsite is small, quiet, clean, well-kept with ample space. Sanitary blocks are clean. Enjoyed free breakfast & paid suppers. Bike hire to river beach. Watch out for the bumpy/narrow access road and insects.

Liked Very welcoming homely site. Peaceful and perfect. We had a small repair needed to the van and were given what we needed to do this as well as fresh figs and homemade cakes. The toilets and showers were very clean and plenty of hot water. We came by the rough road and left over the wooden bridge with no difficulties in our campervan. The breakfast was exceptional. This is a special site made by the great hosts.

Tolles Frühstück auf einer schönen Terrasse
einfache, aber saubere Sanitäranlage
viel Platz, so dass wir den Wohnwagen angehängt lassen durften
Im Ort gibt es ein tolles Restaurant und einen Strand am Fluss

Disliked Anfahrtsweg war von einer Richtung auf einer extrem holprigen Straße (max. 20 kmh möglich mit Wohnwagen über mehrere km)
Anfahrtsweg aus der anderen Richtung über eine Hängebrücke, auf die wir uns nur trauten, weil auch ein dicker Traktor vor uns die Fahrt überlebte

Liked Wir wurden sehr herzlich empfangen. Es wurde uns sofort alles gezeigt, und all unsere Fragen beantwortet. Als wir so unser Barbecue machten, kam das Besitzer Pärchen zu uns und schenkte uns 1/2 l Wein und zwei total leckere Kuchenstücke, weil die vom Abendessen über hatten. Als ich kommenden Tag zwei Euro Trinkgeld geben wollte, wurden diese nicht angenommen. Okay, dafür gibt es aber immerhin jetzt diese Bombenbewertung.

Disliked Wenn es in der Richtung überhaupt irgendwas gibt, sind relativ viele Insekten dort, dafür ist es halt Natur pur.

Liked De super vriendelijke eigenaren.
Deze mensen zijn supergastvrij.elke avond een glasje wijn,met wat lekkers erbij.
De camping zit er mooi uit.
Het sanitair is super schoon.
De eigenaar heeft ons meegenomen naar de markt,en heeft verteld wat er allemaal te doen is in de buurt.

Liked We loved everything. The hosts are friendly and incredibly generous. You can pay for supper (which we highly recommend - they’re very good cooks). The site is small, quiet and clean with excellent facilities. Free bike hire so you can cycle to the nearby river beach for a swim. We’d definitely return if we come back to Hungary,

If you have kids in tow, first stop may possibly be Brunnbauer Állatsimogató (35 minutes’ drive) to feed donkeys, walk with alpacas or dromedaries, and cuddle bunny rabbits. Youngsters can also have fun scrambling up to the top of the Mámai-réti Kilátó look out (15 minutes) for views over the crop fields of the southern plains. Keen anglers can set up their rods on several riverbanks and ponds within 20 minutes’ drive, while walkers and cyclists have easy passage in waterside nature reserves like Zsurmó Tanya (half an hour) and butterfly-rich Szentesi Öko Thermal Park (45 minutes). You can learn much about the heritage of this southern corner of Hungary by visiting the open-air museum at Ópusztaszer Heritage Park (55 minutes), liberally scattered with recreated traditional homesteads, artwork and statuary. The lively city of Kecskemét (an hour) is well-known for its peerless Art Nouveau architecture, which you can see at the city hall, József Katona Theatre and at the much-adorned, curvaceous Cifrapalota, a quasi-museum open for guided tours.
