What customers say
Superb Snowdonia location with mountain views, great for hikers. Staff are friendly & helpful. Good value, with decent basic facilities incl. a drying room. Hilly terrain means some pitches aren't flat. Showers had mixed reviews on cleanliness/payment. Close to Llanberis & Snowdon paths.

Liked Beautiful location. Friendly wholesome atmosphere.
Disliked Just communication. We had questions so I emailed and called with no answers. Not a massive issue but would’ve been handy to have the info we needed before arrival.

Great place to stay location wise.…
Primitive grass tent campsite
Liked Great place to stay location wise. 20 min walk from the base of Snowdon
Disliked Although it was a lovely weekend away, be aware that if you want a shower or to use the restroom, it will be difficult due to the lack of facilities for the amount of people. The campsite is on uneven ground, so pitching a tent and getting a good nights sleep can be challenging, which is surprising having most campers are there to climb the surrounding mountain’s.

3 night stay
Primitive grass tent campsite
Liked I absolutely loved this trip! The price I paid was nothing compared to the stunning view I woke up to every morning. We stayed on top of a hill, and every time we opened our tent, we were greeted by the most breathtaking view of the mines and lake—honestly, such a beauty!
The facilities were basic but had everything you need: two showers and two toilet cubicles each for men and women, plus two outdoor toilet cubicles with washrooms. There are drying facilities you can use for £1 (a nice bonus!) and even a small fridge for campers. There are also campfire spaces, and the site sells extra essentials like logs and pegs if needed.
We hiked up Snowdon using the Watkin Path, which was only 30 minutes from the campsite—super convenient! The Snowdon station was also just a 5-minute drive if you prefer taking the steam train up the mountain. I would comeback for a quick weekend getaway just for the campsite view!
Disliked There’s honestly not much to dislike. The campsite itself has no flat ground, but that’s just nature—if it weren’t for the hills, you wouldn’t get those stunning mountain views! The showers cost £1 for an 8-minute shower and can occasionally play up, but for a basic campsite, I was just glad they had proper showers available.
