  • Spacious site a short drive from Eryri/Snowdonia National Park
  • Within easy reach of beaches, watersports and a mountain railway
  • Barbecues welcome and several supermarkets within easy reach
Seeking a sojourn within easy reach of the smashingly spectacular Eryri/Snowdonia National Park? Close to several splendid beaches and within easy reach by car or bike from several towns for foodie spots and cosy pubs? Treborth Hall Farm Caravan Site should, then, tick off a fair few of your Welsh holiday boxes. This peaceful walled park is a 20-minute walk from the Anglesey Isle town of Menai Bridge, home to several traditional pubs and other eateries for off-site sips and scoffs. You can be in Bangor on your bike in 15 minutes too, or hop in the car and be there in less than 10; highly beau Beaumaris is bikeable too – reach it in a little over half an hour on two wheels, or be there in half the time on four. When it comes to stuff for kids to do, they’ve got reams of room to roam freely around, plus a play area too should they require fun structures to clamber on; for a spot of gentle grownup activity, there's a public footpath just outside that forms a loop connecting to the Wales Coast Path, which in turn provides access to Treborth Botanic Garden. For food on site you’re more than welcome to get a barbecue going – several supermarkets are within easy reach around the nearby towns for all your sizzling supplies, and there are also lots of pubs, restaurants and takeaways too. Among the on-site amenities are toilets and two shower blocks with coin-operated showers with plenty of piping-hot water.

Powered cement/asphalt campsite

Liked: Warm welcome from the staff, walled off central area with children's play area which was great for families but also kept the noise down for others. Pitches are well kept and clean showers and toilets. Site owners had also organised free entertainment and a hog roast.

Primitive grass tent campsite (solo)

Liked: I cannot fault this campsite. Stayed 4 nights. Good and clean toilet facilities and showers. You press the button for water and it gives plenty of time to wash hair. Toilet roll always in toilets. Friendly owners. I stayed in a big field behind the motor home area. Dawn chorus of birds was amazing. Owls hooting at night. Very quiet and I was there at Easter. There were also portaloos in the big field, well maintained and clean. There is pedestrian access out of campsite, you can walk to Menai Bridge easily.

Disliked: Nothing. I will be a regular guest.

Primitive grass tent campsite (solo)

Liked: Very cheap indeed at £10 per night for camping. The location was also perfect with such close access to Anglesey and as a history buff I loved the fact that it was so close to the Menai Bridge. The staff were also extremely helpful.

Disliked: The facilities as a camper were a little basic (clean showers and toilets, but no hot-water washing up area so far as I could see) but I think it deserves a pass as it seems to be primarily a caravan site, and more facilities are needed for camping.
