Camping pod

Liked I stayed at Coiltie Glampod for 3 nights while touring Loch Ness with family, giving me a private space but close proximity to join the exploration with my nephews looking for Nessie.

The POD was exactly as advertised and everything that I was hoping for, I can't rate this place high enough. It's located in a quiet and peaceful space up from the main village with everything walking distance and really close.

The owner John, was very welcoming and friendly. It was everything I was hoping for and a great base to explore Loch Ness, Inverness, Culloden, Nairn and the surrounding area.

First time staying in a glampod and it was a 100% positive experience, would highly recommend this accommodation to single and couples travelling in the area.

Camping pod

Liked We stayed at Coiltie Glampod for 2 nights while we toured Isle of Skye and cannot rate this place enough! It was fabulous! It was so quiet and peaceful and we really enjoyed listening to the birds and the River Coiltie. The owner, John, was very welcoming and friendly and we enjoyed having a good chat. The POD itself was so comfy and cozy, we didn’t want to leave! The shower was warm and inviting after a cold rainy day. The under floor heating was a bonus and if we brought our dog along (which you can!), we know where the dog would have slept. The floor was that toasty warm! The POD has a cute kitchenette, generous sized fridge/freezer, stove for cooking and utensils - everything you need. Tea, coffee, sugar, pint of milk in the fridge was waiting for us and even a pack of biscuits! The local shops are only 15min walk down the road. We absolutely adored our stay! Thankyou!

Camping pod

Liked We really enjoyed our stay at Coiltie Glampod.
We had a bit of a nightmare journey (car trouble) but it was so lovely to be welcomed with coffee, milk, and biscuits and the dog LOVED his snacks too!
The pod was immaculate, had all of the essentials needed for a comfortable stay and is in such a beautiful and peaceful location and we watched the most stunning sunrises towards the Loch.
Thank you to John for his advice on the best places to eat and visit.
We hope to book again soon.

Local attractions

With such a prime location in Urquhart Bay, you might want to begin by exploring the lochside ruins that are the Urquhart Castle (55 minutes’ walk or five minutes’ drive) – there’s a former prison cell and a climbable tower. Hunt down some local waterfalls – at only 15 minutes’ walk from the site, the Falls of Divach could make a pretty spectacular post-breakfast stroll. As for other gorgeous Highland landscapes, get out over glens like Glen Urquhart (half an hour) and Glen Moriston (50 minutes). Inverness (half an hour), which has quite the offering too: a big swimming pool, a museum and art gallery and over Victorian footbridges on the river Ness, walks between the pines on the Ness Islands. If you want more hikes after that, the 79-mile-long Great Glen Way begins in Inverness and ends at Fort William in the west or there are trails in Abriachan (15 minutes).
