Take a walk to the top of the site hill for breathtaking views across the bay

  • Devon farm site within minutes of several beaches
  • A mile from the River Dart, two from Paignton and three from Totnes
  • Peaceful setting on 400 acres with 15 acres of apple orchards
What might you say to camping on a Devon farm only a couple of miles away from the beach, minutes from Paignton and Totnes, with views that might make you crumble? What about a site that produces its own scrumpy cider from 15 acres of on-site apple orchards among its 400 acres? Like the many returning guests of Broadleigh Farm Park, you might say it’s pretty sweet. If driving makes you crabby, the nine acres of Broadleigh Farm Park are where to base yourself to see the sights of Devon: Paignton and Totnes are two and three miles away respectively; supplies – and pubs – in the village of Stoke Gabriel about 15 minutes’ walk, and the activities and sights of Dartmoor within around half an hour’s drive. Miles of walks are available straight from the site, and for little pipsqueaks, Pennywell Farm and Paignton Zoo are both within (short) driving distance. Facilities including showers, toilets, launderette and washing-up area are kept in apple-pie order: you’ll find free hairdryers too and there are disabled facilities and a parent and baby washroom. Broadleigh is a working farm, so while dogs are welcome, please keep them on leads while on site or unless in the separate dog-walking field.

What customers say

This roomy, tidy site offers a quiet country break. Praised for super-clean facilities (modern showers/toilets!), friendly staff, a great cider farm, and good access to sights. Downsides: tight roads, sometimes sloped pitches, and occasional limited reception hours.

Primitive grass campsite

Liked A picturesque place in the middle of no where, yet so close to everything you'd need. No better feeling than to press the reset button and get back to basics of minimal Internet, breathing in fresh air, smores by the fire and connecting sitting under the stars. Great facilities, shower, toilets, and access to water on tap, clean and well maintained site. Thankyou for having us. Soanes family :-) x

Disliked Only issue was what seemed an overflow problem on the back of the services building from the drains and was running along the path.

Primitive grass campsite

Liked Location , plenty of space at camp site, clean campground, weekend music and cider event. They have a good recycling system for all rubbish.

Disliked We were camped in the lower rally field for 5 nights with its own toilets and showers separate from the main camp so l believe that the cleaning service was forgotten as we never saw them except for only a man supplying toilet paper. One of the two women’s shower door was broken . The wash up area did not have any night lights. The wi fi was terrible.

Primitive grass campsite

Liked Lots of space, beautiful area, good facilities and great cider! Reasonably priced too. Would recommend.

Disliked Dogs not always on the lead plus dog poop not picked up. Appreciate this is not a site issue but the people who pitch up there who think the site rules don’t apply to them.

Liked A lovely site. The site was easily over half full. No issues with noise.
Very spacious, clean, well maintenence pitches.
2 toilet/shower blocks, all kept very clean.
The cider barn with live music was a great addition.

Disliked Some of the ehu points are quite far, so make sure you have a long lead.
The showers only runs for 2 seconds in the lower toilet block, so you have to constantly kept pressing the button, and were set to hot.

Local attractions

The Devon village of Stoke Gabriel is about a mile from the site and has a supermarket, pubs, a shop, a post office and gentle riverside ambles along the Dart to ancient village streets or the old apple orchard. Pick up some crabbing gear and head for the Stoke Gabriel quay to catch a few specimens; this is a well-known crabbing area and just the spot to teach the kids how to master the art. If boats are your bag, hire a vessel to sail up the river to Totnes or catch the ferry downstream to Dittisham, opposite Agatha Christie’s old home and inspiration at the Greenway Estate – no need to keep your eyes peeled for somewhat spectacular river views. From here you can go on to Dartmouth, where the river releases to the sea, and stop off for an afternoon’s shopping or to see Dartmouth Castle, one of a pair of forts protecting the mouth of the Dart Estuary and part of a harbour cruise from Dartmouth to Kingswear. Safe and spotless beaches abound within a few minutes’ drive of Broadleigh, from the award-winning sands of Goodrington, the closest beach to the site, to nearby Brixham and Torquay among other family-friendly sandy fare. If the weather’s a little damp, Goodrington’s Seashore Centre has free admission and info on the history of the 22-mile stretch of the English Riviera. Broadleigh lies roughly halfway between Plymouth and Exeter, both within about 40 minutes’ drive.
