Hidden amongst pine & oak trees but in a quiet corner of the garden

  • Luxurious shepherd’s hut set in woodland near Steyning, West Sussex
  • A 20-minute drive to the South Downs National Park and Worthing beach
  • Bread making school on site; firepit and kitchen area provided
Get that boutique hotel-stay feeling when you arrive at The Bakers Hut, a handcrafted oak bolthole tucked away in a Steyning, West Sussex glade that’s exclusively yours for the duration of your holiday. This stylish little chap is backed by mature oak and pine trees and you have five acres of gardens and woodland to explore right outside the door. Ideal as a romantic hideaway for loved-up couples, the bespoke shepherd’s hut has much to offer, from a comfy king-size bed with pristine white linens and cosy throws to a kitchen area with fridge, oven and all the basics for you to rustle up simple suppers. The shower room is ensuite (no wandering about outside in the dark for you) and has lots of thoughtful touches like fluffy white towers and a hairdryer so you all keep looking your best. A breakfast basket is included (with handmade bread, jam, granola, cookies, tea/coffee/local apple juice and often fresh handmade pastries too). Rainy day? No problem. Put your feet up and turn on the flatscreen TV. Sun shining? Get outside onto the decking to spark up the firepit so you can feast on barbecued goodies – and if the sky is clear, you can indulge in a spot of stargazing after dark. In addition, the site has its own bread making school and sometimes runs chocolate classes too. Your only close neighbours will be the hens (eggs for breakfast perhaps?), so you can wake up to birdsong and little else every morning. When you’re out and about during the day, watch out for rabbits, squirrels and deer.
