Rainbow over the farm
South downs sheep grazing in the field

  • Simple, peaceful grass pitches at a family farm in the South Downs
  • Just over half a mile from the South Downs Way by bridleway
  • Farm shop and firepit for barbecue cooking; 10 mins' drive to Arundel
The grass pitches at Cokes Farm are peaceful, rural and part of a family farm in the tiny hamlet of West Burton, in the southern stretch of the South Downs National Park. About 10 minutes’ drive away from Pulborough, you’ll be well away from traffic noise and street lights, and in a very good spot for walks and bike rides by day and stargazing by night (the South Downs are recognised as a dark sky park so the starry displays should be pretty good). Those walks/rides might just take you over to the village, or they might take you up onto the top of the Downs for views out towards Brighton and the Isle of Wight. For a closer look at the sea, you can reach the coast with a drive of about 20 minutes. The South Downs Way is just over half a mile's walk away along a bridleway. The facilities on site extend to a small shed with hot-water showers and a flushing toilet. One of the real highlights is the farm shop, which sells eggs, bacon, fruit and veg (along with detergents for the inevitable washing-up). A firepit is provided if you’d like to have a go at barbecue cooking. Anything you can’t buy on site should be available in the shops of the local towns – as well as Pulborough, Arundel, Petworth and Storrington are all within a 15-minute drive. There are plenty of eateries in those towns too, or you could head to the local pub, a 20-minute stroll away.

Primitive grass and earth tent or trailer tent campsite

Liked: An amazing farm in the heart of a beautiful natural and green nature with an amazing jolly and welcoming owner”Ken” who takes every single extra mile to give the most enjoyable and comfortable experience to his guests. There is a lovely farm shop with a trust box which is open 24hrs and you can get variety of Ken’s farm products (fresh warm eggs, fresh vegetables, jams and marmalades, wood blocks, etc)
Lots of lovely tracks and foot path for walkers around there and Ken has even provided guests with copies of maps for areas and local ways. Lots of tourist attractions and lovely spots including nice beaches in 10-20 minutes drive from there. Extremely clean toilets and bathroom with all you need there.
By the way, Ken is the king of great customer service👑

Disliked: Nothing to dislike but more on suggestion for improvements and that is a need of an extra shower and toilet block for future. It did not bother us as not so crowded when we went there but in high season it can be a bit of problem.

Primitive grass and earth tent or trailer tent campsite

Liked: Lovely quiet site with beautiful views. Lots of pitch space , didn't feel crammed in. Had 2 toilets, 1 shower and a washing up space.

Disliked: Not enough toilets for amount of pitches, had to queue to use, washing up space very small, again had to queue. No fault of owners but a group of campers were playing music until 3/4am so we had to leave after the 1st night as small children😞
