  • Family-run site on a two-acre paddock in the Kent countryside
  • A 20-minute drive from Sissinghurst Castle Garden
  • Adults-only site with refreshment barn; well-behaved pets welcome
An adults-only site on a two-acre paddock, Willows End Park is a five-minute drive from the Kent village of Marden. All around it is splendid countryside (the High Weald Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty is 15 minutes away), which you can explore with your dog at your heel; canine buddies are welcome as long as they are well behaved. The owners live and work on site, and they are always happy to help answer any questions you may have about the local area. As a bonus, Charlie is a caravan service and repairs technician, so any trailers you tow along should be in safe hands here. Although Willows End Park is part of a working farm, noise is minimal. Facilities include fresh water, a chemical waste point and a grey water disposal point. (If you prefer, you can water the trees and hedges with grey waste when appropriate.) There's also a refreshment barn where you can pick up fresh homemade cakes and other tasty snacks. Amenities in Marden village include pubs, a food shop and a takeaway/restaurant, plus a railway station that you can use as a departure point for jaunts around the area.

Liked: Everything. Willows End Touring Park is a simple, yet amazing place, it was very peaceful, with amazing owners and a great atmosphere with the other campers. A mix of tents, caravans and travel vans, I would 100% revisit.

Local attractions

You can paddleboard along a tranquil stretch of the River Medway (or have a go at paddleboard yoga) with Paddle Cabin (15 minutes’ drive). If you’d rather be in the water than on it, head to Bewl Water Aqua Park (20 minutes), where you can climb, slide and jump off a number of bouncy inflatable structures. The former home of author Vita Sackville-West, Sissinghurst Castle (20 minutes) is renowned for its English-style garden, with a collection of fragrant roses and an area devoted exclusively to plants blossoming white, grey and silver. After strolling through the greenery, climb up the tower for views of the entire estate. It may look like a medieval structure from the outside, but much of Leeds Castle (20 minutes) was given an Art Deco facelift in the 1930s by its American owner Lady Baillie. After admiring the elegant rooms, take a stroll around the surrounding parkland, which is roamed by peacocks and black swans.
