What customers say

Campers loved the clean, roomy pods and friendly staff. The site's peaceful with good amenities like a pool and clubhouse. Entertainment's a hit! Some issues: communal washroom cleanliness, no toilet paper, trash, bed bugs in one pod (resolved), limited fridge space, and some maintenance.

Camping pod

Liked We stayed in pod 7 and it was great even in the wind and rain, the staff are 5 star and where really friendly and made you feel at home, only issues was some fixings lose on walls and the mattress, it defiantly needs replacing as it made us both roll to the middle of the bed and is very thin so didn't sleep well but still worth a stay for a pod experience.

Disliked double Mattress
food and drink on the expensive side

Camping pod

Liked The pod, it was larger than I thought it would be and it was clean. The heater was also very good, wasn't sure if there would be one but glad there was!
The setting was also lovely. The showers were warm and powerful. The staff were friendly and helpful.

Disliked The shower block needs a makeover, it looks very dated and felt cold and uninviting even though it looked recently painted. Also, the floors needed cleaning. I was disappointed that you had a timed 45 minute slot to go swimming and the air in the changing rooms felt overly hot. Free Wifi in the pods would be a great improvement rather than just the clubhouse.

Camping pod

Liked Overall, this was lovely!
The camping pods are wonderful, spacious enough and right next to a lovely open grass area where kids could fly kites, kick a ball about, and ride their bikes!
The entertainment was fantastic, and the staff were all very lovely!

Disliked The toilet block was not best cleaned.. there was no toilet roll all weekend, and no soap in the dispensers which was disappointing as everything else was perfect!

Camping pod

Liked The pod/ camping area was generally well-kept, the toilet block was generally as clean as you would expect for a shared area.
The staff on site were really kind and enthusiastic, whilst all seemed a little distracted with the “Marlie fest” they were clearly excited and wanted it to be fun for all!

Disliked Our pod itself could have done with a deeper clean, the children found discarded plastic bottles down the side of their mattresses on the bunk beds and there was debris under the beds.
Outside our pod there was rubbish /cigarette butts which I cleared myself on arrival.
Our electric went out. And although staff came out to fix it, it went off again, so on return to the pod after the entertainment at 11pm we found it was off again and our cooled items in our cool box fridge were no longer cool. However, we called and staff came out again so although frustrating staff did rectify this for us.

Camping pod

Liked The swimming pool
The pod was very clean and tidy and spacious.
The communal showers were clean.
The reception staff were wonderful and welcoming
The shop staff were helpful

Disliked Only wished there was a toilet in the pod walking at 3am to the communal toilets half asleep and scared of my own shadow thinking if I get back alive is not the one. 😂

Camping pod

Liked The location is lovely and very peaceful,
The pod is spacious but could do with a couple of hooks in the walls to hang things.
We liked we could still have a bbq and bought our own cooking equipment to. We normally do camping but my little one has broken his arm so we thought this was a better option and we are so glad we did.
Parking available so you don’t have to lug all your stuff far either. Bonus that you get access to the pool and facilities to. There’s an onsite shop for any essentials you have forgotten to. Dymchurch beach is 10 mins down the road we spent the whole day and had a lovely time.

Disliked Shower blocks were in need of some tlc they were very dirty when we arrived but once cleaned they were ok. I feel these need to be checked maybe twice a day I’m not talking full clean even if just the floor is wiped down. There’s no communal fridge. This we struggled with when ever we have been camping there has been a fridge so it was very hard to keep anything cold. Either a communal fridge or a small one in the pods would be great.

Camping pod

Liked Pod was clean and ready for us. Very quiet site with good access to toilets. Swimming pool lovely but staff needs to make bookings system easier and not ask for pass cards when cards where shown at the time of the booking in the office.

Disliked There is only ramp to get into toilets. It will be nice to have couple of stairs to get there quicker but still good.

Local attractions

Buckets and spades are go, with a range of good beaches on the doorstep; try Littlestone and Dymchurch, or Camber Sands a little further away. You’ll spot the steam engines of the Romney, Hythe and Dymchurch Railway puffing past; don’t miss a trip on this historic miniature railway, one of the best ways to explore the area. Other sporting pursuits on offer include excellent fishing at the Wylands Angling Centre, where there are 10 lakes to choose from; and a wide range of watersports, both on the nearby beaches and at a specially designed lake just inland (sand yachting, wakeboarding, jetskiing and more). Whatever your ages and stages, there’s no shortage of inspiration for a family outing. A 20-minute drive up the road is the fab Port Lympne Reserve, where you can bump along through herds of African wildlife in a safari truck and get up close to the gorillas in the Palace of the Apes; you’ll also see rhinos, elephants, lions, tigers and other ferocious beasts. Alternatively, go for a day out in Dover, to explore the White Cliffs and historic Dover Castle; a sedate saunter around spectacular Leeds Castle, potentially offset with an adrenaline-boosting high ropes adventure at the neighbouring Go Ape centre; a tastebud-tickling trip to the Biddenden Vineyard and Cider Works; a walk down memory lane at Yesterday’s World, or a foray to the Hop Farm near Maidstone.
