Liked: Host was lovely. He stayed in contact to ensure we got to the site okay and met us there to help set up and find our way. We were just stopping over night before completing our walk across the island and Tony made sure we had everything we could need. Also being able to go see the animals on the farm was a really nice bonus. Great service and lovely place to set up camp

Liked: 2nd time staying here. Idyllic location.
Disliked: I'll be totally honest that I left a bit disappointed after such an amazing stay last time. As a general note, I think if there are going to be building works/maintenance then the site should closed for a short time in the off season. I'm aware it's a working farm but this was in close proximity, not in the next field... There was also allot of mess around and caravans (which the listing says are not allowed on site) this all made me feel a bit unwelcome.
The area on which you can actually pitch has also been also greatly reduced due to a new fence. I also note the toilets have been moved into a prime tent pitching spot under a tree - I really think this should be kept free as many campers will like the flat, sheltered spot that they're in. Just my opinion.
I'm an experienced wild camper and will stay anywhere - but the mess to wild ratio was a bit off this time... I hope I just visited on a bad weekend and as I'd like to stay again when on the island.

From the manager: Thanks for pointing this out Jack. We didn't know the contractor was going to start so early, which caught us out, the Friday before you arrived. Hence the mess you saw!.it is always difficult to get stuff done on the farm at the best of times!
We will offer a full refund or come back next year free of charge, I'm closing the farm down this weekend for the winter. Hopefully our update to the farm will be completed by spring!!

The owners were both really helpful, hospitable and lovely. We shared tea and biscuits on arrival. I was incredibly greatly for their kindness and friendliness. Also loved the pigs!!! Could not recommend this stay more.

Liked: Fantastic views
Disliked: Composting toilets very cramped and needs completely refurbished / rebuilt.
Washing facilities are a disgrace, I know it wild camping but if its open to the public there still needs to be some privacy

Liked: Last minute booking on a stormy weekend. Met up with the owner as he was leaving site and was very helpful and kindly offered extra shelter if needed. Good quiet spot - all I needed for a wild camping experience. Toilets well maintained.
The site is sloped so I think there are only a few places where a good pitch is possible. However no issues for me as there was only one other camper!
Highly recommended, as long as you know what you’re doing/ aware it’s more leaning to the wild camping crowd.
Will be booking again when in the IOW.

Liked: It was such an amazing site, the scene were so beautiful. At the far side of the field is a woodland with a lake and it was so fun to explore. The pigs that were at the top of the field were so adorable and the owner gave us food to feed them. We were the only people camping so we had the whole site to ourselves and honestly it was so perfect. The facilities were minimal but it’s proper camping so what was expected.
Disliked: There’s limited spaces around the field that isn’t sloped and where it is flat, the ground is bumpy so make sure to bring something soft to sleep on. We slept on the ground but it’s was absolutely fine for us. The toilet situation was not as bad as we were expecting. There were two toilets in little sheds. If you don’t like proper camping especially when it comes to toilets potentially look elsewhere but honestly for the 7 of us it was not bad at all.

Liked: Really peaceful, secluded and welcoming site - they even left us a couple of plastic chairs undercover when it rained. The compost toilets were kept really clean and there’s a sink for washing up.
Disliked: There wasn’t a shower on site which was listed on Pitch up.
