Liked: Spacious, flat and quiet camping area. Lots of room to pitch and didn't feel too close to other campers. Toilets are clean and tidy. Friendly hosts too.
Primrose Cottage campsite is in an excellent location for country walks and more demanding hikes into the surrounding west Pennine Moors directly from the campsite. Brilliant local pub (Lock n Quay) that does excellent food. This campsite is a hidden gem
Disliked: Nothing to dislike

Liked: Really friendly site, Laury offered me a chair as I was hiking to site and she wanted to make sure I was comfy around my campfire which was so lovely of her. 🥰
Really nice quiet campsite. You can hear the motorway yes but isn’t too bad. As a solo female camper I felt completely safe and at ease here. The toilet facilities are nice and clean. I just need to work on my fire skills 🫣 couldn’t keep the thing lit! Well until I ignored it 😂
Felt nice and relaxed and got lucky with the weather. Enjoyed it being an adult only site and no music made me able to hear the wood pecker near by. Overall would highly recommend
Disliked: Toilets are a little dark at night but that’s the only negative I can think of here. If there was showers it would be a perfect place for a weeks stay

Liked: Lovely site with plenty of space. Clean well maintained toilets. Booked very last minute so didn’t know what to expect but owners sent message with all required information which was really helpful. Wouldn’t normally use a fire pit but did on this occasion and so glad we did. Plenty of wood supplied, we didn’t get through it all. Perfect short getaway and will return.
