  • Friendly site in the grounds of historic Stretton House
  • A 10-minute drive from Pickmere Lake; and 20 minutes from Manley Mere
  • Farm shop nearby; barbecues and firepits allowed
If you like the sound of having farm shops and ice cream farms nearby, as well as access to lots of walking and cycling trails, Stretton House Campsite should be a fine pick for you. It has a strict no noise policy after 10pm, meaning that you should get a peaceful night's sleep too. This site is in the grounds of the 400-year-old Stretton House surrounded by the Cheshire countryside with handy transport links nearby and outdoor activities in no short supply… that includes things like alpaca walking, golf or Manley Mere’s watersports haven (a 20-minute drive away for the latter). You’ll have your pick of two fields, both with car parking by the pitch free of charge and dogs allowed. There are basic facilities including a mobile freshwater toilet block with male and female facilities and a water standpipe. You’ll have permission to start up a barbecue or firepit too (subject to the correct safety measures). When you’re ready to get going, the friendly owners will be willing to help out however they can and suggest possible days out, which may include fishing or walking at Pickmere Lake (10 minutes’ drive), visiting an ice cream farm (within 10 minutes’ drive of the site) or going to the local golf course (five minutes’ drive). For food, there’s a farm shop just two minutes’ walk away from the site where you’ll be able to get your hands on local produce. Pubs aren’t far away either – there is one pub five minutes' walk away, and another 15 minutes' walk away. Festival goers are very welcome, and the Creamfields Festival site is five minutes’ drive away. Please respect the quiet hours (no noise is permitted after 10pm) and environment, as the owners' home is on the grounds (and stick to the field's facilities only).

What customers say

This campsite offers a friendly, quiet, and clean experience with spacious pitches and good facilities, including modern washrooms. Its location is praised for easy access to highways and proximity to a farm store and local pubs. The site is popular for festivals, with owners providing helpful shuttle services. While generally well-regarded, some visitors find it pricey for the basic amenities, with occasional comments on limited facilities or ground conditions after rain.

Primitive grass travel trailer campsite

Liked The simplicity, cleanliness, staff are pro-active and it is a good location

Disliked Stayed during Creamfields weekend which is a few miles away, the site was full of people for the festival - avoid if not prepared to be listening to music and shouting till the early morning. Field is usually quite spacious, it wasn't this weekend. However, I totally appreciate the festival scene and the owners catering for them to enjoy themselves

Primitive grass travel trailer campsite

Liked How easy going it was. Toilets were clean. Family friendly, all of the staff were family which was lovely. Everyone was available and friendly. Helped out with lifts to a festival there and back which was great! The bins were regularly seen to and the showers were great - nice and warm.

Disliked Nothing.

Primitive grass tent or trailer tent campsite

Liked I love the campsite but even more than that- the proprietor Paul was epic. My car had broken down just as I was leaving and he couldn't have been more helpful, spending a lot of time getting me back on the road whilst juggling phone calls and bookings on the busy August Bank Holiday weekend - legend!.

Primitive grass tent or trailer tent campsite

Liked It was spacious, clean, relaxed, close to Creamfields, had nice toilet and shower block. Complementary sun screen and mozi repellent. Charger sockets and some under cover space.
Lifts to creamfields both ways!
Friendly family running the place.
Would definitely recommend.

Disliked Someone put a generator in first thing in the morning that woke us up. We thought this was disrespectful as people not wanting to get up to that noise and really shouldn’t be allowed! Same as not allowed loud music.

Primitive grass travel trailer campsite

Liked Great campsite and hosts! Toilets were clean. We stayed here to attend creamfields which was only 5-10 min drive, Paul the owner even taxi people to and from the festival. Campsite was big and was plenty of room for us to set up with our van and gazebo. Would stay again ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Disliked Others users running bigger generators.
