What customers say
Peaceful, dog-friendly site in beautiful Northumberland. Ideal for walkers with direct access to trails. Staff are friendly, facilities are clean (though dated), with great dog areas and plenty of hot water. Enjoy tranquil escapes, views, and dark skies, but be aware of midges.

Liked First ever trip in our camper and couldn't have picked a better site. So peaceful and beautiful pitches overlooking the river. The owners are lovely and have thought of everything, the pitches are close to fresh water supply, toilets (very clean) and a kitchen with a microwave, vacuum and books or dvd's to borrow. Shower block a little further away but still very close. Grey water and toilet waste disposal also close by. They also have a dog wash area which isn't a surprise as this site is definitely set up with your four legged friend in mind. As well as the river for your dog (and you) to swim in, there's also an amazing dog walk area with ponds (i think you can swim here too if you wish), picnic benches and plenty of dog waste bins around the site. There are also so many lovely walks in the area as well as being right on the Pennine Way and on a night time you can enjoy the beautiful dark skies. Can't wait to visit again.

Liked A really peaceful setting with amazing walks from the back of the site. Perfect for staying with dogs as it has a large secure field for them to run in. We stayed on the pitch next to the river and enjoyed watching the wildlife, including a kingfishers, every morning. Everyone was really friendly and made you feel very welcome. It is a very well run site and exceptionally clean site.

Liked Loved the peace and quiet of the campsite, it was in a beautiful area and there were plenty of walks around the site, also with it being in the ‘dark skies’ area, it was great to see so many stars at night. The owners were very friendly and helpful.
Toilets, showers and a washing up area in a little kitchen, which had a microwave, vacuum cleaner, mop and bucket, provided. Everything you could need to make your camping experience enjoyable.
Disliked Midgies!!! But that was not the campsites fault 😂

Truly a place to switch off, enjoy the views and recharge.

Liked Location! Amazing views and several hiking options directly from site. Enormous dog walking area with river access, dogs loved it! The site is tranquil in its own right, so you can happily spend time by the riverside, enjoying a book right at your own pitch. Warm welcome from Michael and his team. Couldn’t do enough.
Disliked Not a dislike as this is truly a, getting away from it place. Therefore need to be prepared with food and drink ahead of arrival, nothing local.

Liked This site is all about the location, in a very quiet part of Northumberland close to hills, forests, and a river. Lots of wildlife, too. The touring pitches are all well located. Loads of hikes and cycle routes nearby. Friendly staff and owners.
Disliked Very little to dislike. The washrooms and showers are a bit tired but they are clean and work fine. Nothing to complain about.
