  • Back to basics pitches at a family-friendly Suffolk farm site
  • A 15-minute drive to Framlingham Castle; half an hour to the coast
  • Dogs welcome; farm shop within walking distance for barbecue supplies
Willow Tree Campsite is a peaceful campsite in the pretty Suffolk village of Worlingworth. This is classic countryside – think open fields, farm animals and a traditional church – so it’s a great spot for a quiet rural break. Couples, families and small groups are all welcome at this site, as are those travelling with dogs. You’ll be staying on a farm so you’ll share the space with various animals (including horses, sheep, pigs and chickens) and there’s usually a fair amount of wildlife to spot while you’re here too. Pitches here are simple in style, with access to a cold water tap and unisex toilets. Barbecues are permitted, so it’s handy that there’s a farm shop within walking distance for sourcing supplies. A local community centre opens for drinks on Friday evenings and there are a few pubs within a short drive. The peaceful atmosphere is certainly a draw for this site, but so too is the location – from here it’s easy to get out for walks around traditional villages and along rural pathways, or to spend days exploring the Suffolk coastline and attractions like Framlingham Castle, Sutton Hoo and Snape Maltings.

Primitive grass tent campsite

Liked Was a fairly quiet campsite, other campers respectful of others and owners came to welcome us.

Disliked Wasn’t too pleased about the hard, very dry ground with holes in that nearly caused a few twisted ankles but this does happen. Not much can be done, also as people who suffer with anxiety, bringing the whole family over to check if our fire pit was suitable could have been avoided. Portaloo’s quite small.

Primitive grass tent campsite

Liked Basic. But great if you like wild camping. Quiet. Extra portaloo added as field was popular over the Bank Hols. Bin provided. Nice owners and family.

Disliked Bit pricey vs other sites experienced with basic (but better) facilities.

Primitive grass tent campsite

Liked Nice quiet field, we where only ones there. basic site only one portable toilet and water point.

Disliked Nothing owners could do but there’s a stream of water running past the field and we where plagued by flys and flying ants. Had to hide in tent all weekend to avoid.

Never saw owners or anyone come to clean or sort toilets, didn’t appear to be cleaned during our stay.
