What customers say

This tranquil, rural spot is a hidden gem and lovely garden oasis with stunning countryside views, sunsets, and wildlife. Guests rave about the welcoming, helpful host, James. Spacious, well-kept pitches offer a relaxing stay. Note the lack of toilet facilities and access advice (approach from the north).

Primitive grass RV campsite

Liked Everything. James was very helpful willing and always had time to chat, pitch was very tranquil small site but large pitch. Social club and fine dining Indian restaurant within 15 minute walk, we were very fortunate that bands and bbq was on all weekend as optional entertainment at the social club made to feel very welcome, plenty of wildlife to see while on site.
Would definitely recommend and hope to return sometime.

Primitive grass RV campsite

Liked We loved this quiet and peaceful haven.
A gem which was effectively someone's back garden. We had it to ourselves and enjoyed every minute watching the birds and enjoying the weather.
James, the owner was very friendly and helpful.
Walked to the nearby pub (King's Head) for food which was of good quality.

Disliked You need your own toilet

Primitive grass RV campsite

Liked We had plenty of useful information in advance from James and it was lovely to meet him as we arrived. It was a relaxing, peaceful rural location. We went cycling and visited a local pub for tea, then sat and watched the sunset until the stars came out. It was just the tonic we needed after a busy week. We had another chat to James just as we were packing up to leave the next morning; he is a very friendly and helpful host. There are no facilities apart from a tap and bins but we don't need much, so it's a very good value little break.

Primitive grass RV campsite

Liked James was very welcoming and helpful. Beautiful setting.

Disliked Site was not really big enough to accommodate larger motor homes to afford privacy.

From the manager: Firstly I must apologise that Henri’s Paddock did not meet your expectations though I am at a loss to understand the reasoning behind your overall ‘6’conclusion.

You rate us as 10 (Ten) for all features with the highest recommendations available but then allocate a ‘6’ which appears solely to be based on ‘privacy’.

As you had no levelling ramps for your 'larger' vehicle unfortunately the choices of pitch was limited ….. as Pitchup states “small-scale site set on the ‘gently sloping’ side of a…”
......….. privacy would have been improved had you such equipment.

Incidentally over four years with many many reviews we have never rated less than a ’10’

Regards .. Henri’s Paddock.

Primitive grass RV campsite

Liked Such a beautiful peaceful spot, with the kindest owners. Really put my mind at ease when I was struggling with my very stressed dog. It was exactly what I needed to round off a beautiful road trip around the coast before the long drive home

If you are self contained and searching for peace and stillness, this is the perfect little spot ❤️

Local attractions

The wetlands, peat bogs and reed beds of Mid-Yare National Nature Reserve and Strumpshaw Fen (15 minutes’ drive) provide a home to assorted wildlife – from colourful kingfishers and marsh harriers, to lizards and rare butterflies. In Norwich (25 minutes), take a stroll along pretty Elm Hill, a cobbled street lined with half-timbered buildings, before heading to explore the medieval cathedral, with its distinctive soaring spire. Afterwards, pick up some provisions from Norwich Market and have a picnic on a bench at the elegant Plantation Garden. Stretching between the River Yare and the North Sea, Great Yarmouth (half an hour) has a large sandy beach that’s just the spot to devour some fish and chips. The Venetian Waterways spread across seven acres and include a series of winding canals crossed by bridges and inhabited by swans and herons.
