  • Peaceful Norfolk site on the outskirts of Warham village
  • Five minutes’ drive to Wells-next-the-Sea; Holkham Beach 10 minutes
  • Dog-friendly pitches 20 minutes’ walk from a good local pub
Wondering where to take your next family break? Wonder no more; just book your pitch at North Norfolk’s Grove Farm Campsite, a small, quiet spot on the outskirts of the flint-built village of Warham. Low-key, peaceful and calm, the site is nevertheless handy for strolls to the local pub, dog walks in the Norfolk Coast National Landscape wetlands (10 minutes’ drive), days out on the beach (and harbour tours) at Wells-next-the-Sea (five minutes) and visits to stately homes or ancient forts. There is a bus stop just a short walk away, and the Wells & Walsingham Light Railway is less than five minutes’ walk away from the site. The two pitching fields (the tourer pitches have electric hook-ups, the tent pitches do not) have countryside views and are sheltered by mature trees. On sunny afternoons, red kites are often spotted soaring above the meadows, and in the evening, you may get lucky enough to catch a glimpse of deer grazing in the meadows. There are firepits for hire (and logs for sale) on site. Barbecues are permitted for family meals on site, but if you’re looking to eat out, take a 20-minute stroll (mostly along a road) to the local pub to sample home-cooked pies, classic pub dishes and traditional Sunday roasts. There are also plenty of other eateries within a short drive of the site.

This peaceful, well-kept campsite in lovely countryside near Wells-next-the-Sea boasts spacious, private spots. Guests enjoy the quiet, though early morning rooster calls are noted. Basic but clean facilities include a composting toilet and water tap. Fire pits can be rented, and a miniature railway is nearby. Owners are friendly & helpful.

Bantam powered grass travel trailer campsite

Liked Lovely quiet site (apart from the RAF planes flying over every now and then but the owners can't do anything about that) with amazing star gazing potential on clear nights. The kids loved the chicks following mother chicken round the site.

Bus stop to Wells was only a few minutes walk from the site which was good as the car parks in Wells all seemed to have height restrictions in place which were way to low for our motorhome.

Bantam powered grass travel trailer campsite

Liked The space given to set up was great, we enjoyed staying in the area and even with the compostable toilets we had no problems. We have told everyone about the site and already planning on going back next year.

Bantam powered grass travel trailer campsite

Liked Lovely peaceful site. Very clean and well kept. It is a farm in the countryside and has wild chickens visiting with their babies daily. There are also cockrells who complete the sound of the countryside.
The pitches are very large, Always help at hand if any problems. Close to Wells, and a fantastic beach at Brancaster about 20 mins away. A lovely site to just chill and relax. It is a basic site but that was fine for us with our caravan. We will be back next year!

Disliked Absolutely nothing to dislike.

Bantam powered grass travel trailer campsite

Liked Nice secluded rural campsite on a bus route to Wells (10 minutes) and walking distance to a nice pub (Three Horseshoes). Clean, quiet and well maintained.

Disliked This is semi-wild camping so no showers, washing facilities or even potwash - be warned! Also there are free range chickens so don't take your dog if he/she is easily triggered.

Bantam powered grass travel trailer campsite

Liked Lovely big level pitches, only a few pitches which keeps it nice and quiet and friendly absolutely value for money. Close to Well and local area which is lovely to explore overall a great site.

Disliked The Cockerell! Not really what you want a 4am early morning alarm lock when you are on holiday. We chose to leave a night early to avoid an early morning wake up before we had to drive home. It's such a shame as the site is exactly what we would normally choose.

Silkie primitive grass tent campsite

Liked Great site, small but still very private as there weren't many other campers. Excellent compost toilets. Beautifully dark and quiet at night. Drinking water on site (hose) but no other facilities, which was no problem for us during a 3-night stay. Would definitely use again!

Local attractions

Warham Camp (five minutes’ drive) is a large, circular Iron Age fort built by the local Iceni tribe on the River Stiffkey. Archaeological excavations have yielded ancient artefacts including shards of Roman pottery. For somewhat more recent history, head to Binham Priory (10 minutes), the ruins of an 11th-century Benedictine monastery. Deer roam the parkland at Holkham Hall (15 minutes), a Palladian-style mansion built in the 1700s. Its exquisitely proportioned, elegant rooms include the colonnaded Marble Hall, with a domed ceiling inspired by Rome’s Pantheon. Check out the collection of landscape paintings and the library, then hire a rowing boat to explore the pretty lake. Seaside adventures await at Holkham Beach (10 minutes), an expansive stretch of sand backed by vegetation-covered dunes that provide shelter to nesting birds such as terns and oystercatchers. There are several hides in the nearby pine grove. For more birdwatching action, walk west to the salt marshes and mud flats of Scolt Head Island National Nature Reserve.
