  • Family-friendly site five kilometres from the resort of San Sebastián
  • Shuttle bus to town running every half an hour
  • Restaurant, bar and barbecue area on site
Right. Firmness is probably needed here. If you're in the habit of holidaying fairly regularly in Spain and you haven't yet been to San Sebastián in the Basque Country, it's a firm fact that you really should, and soon. San Sebastián is one of the most popular tourist destinations in Spain and has been described as the country's 'most elegant and fashionable seaside resort' (high praise indeed…) And you might want to stay at WeCamp San Sebastián too: it's only five kilometres from the resort's gorgeous Ondarreta beach, in a sublime setting between the mountains and the sea, and – how super – runs a shuttle bus to San Sebastián every 30 minutes. WeCamp San Sebastián is a family-friendly site with modern facilities, including an outdoor pool (open during high season only) and a kids’ club that handily runs daily activities. Covering the practical side of things, the site has an amenities block with plenty of showers and loos, hot and cold water all day and night long, and coin-operated washers and dryers. For eats, tasty local meals are dished up at the site restaurant, and a roomy barbecue area with picnic tables is available for guests' use. Thirsts can be slaked at the WeCamp San Sebastián bar and supplies sorted at the on-site supermarket; shops and restaurants are just over half a kilometre away.

What customers say

Great spot with a top bus into San Sebastián. Clean amenities, fab pool. Staff are a legend. Pity about the tight, wonky spots, patchy Wi-Fi and a bit of noise. Restaurant's a mixed bag.

Great food, good play area for the children and they made lots of friends.
Quiet and relaxing. Great location

Disliked Slightly small pitch, had a tree in the middle. Which restricted us putting out sun awning up.

Unpowered grass and gravel campervan site

Liked Really convenient public bus service to San Sebastián from outside the front gate.

Well maintained sanitation blocks.

Disliked Terrible experience at the restaurant Saturday 12 July. After 1 hour waiting for 3 dishes nothing had been made. Our order never arrived. The management in the kitchen was chaos. Serving staff were polite but confused about what food had been ordered for every table.

Campervan pitches were ugly muddy with no view. The landowner outside the campsite spent 4 hours from 08:00 strimming his land. Very noisy all morning. It woke us up and the noise was very stressful.

Christopher Dean J.

Power optional grass and gravel caravan site (plus)

Liked Very little considering it costs £95 a night.

Pool was OK.

Disliked Restaurant... food was disgusting... we tried the paella which we were told would be very nice but it was precooked and warmed up in the oven or microwave.

Toilets and showers were very basic.

The whole area of motorhome pitches was very grim, small pitches with stone dust and gravel.

WiFi didn't work at the pitch.

Massively overpriced at £95 a night

From the manager: The wifi connect has been interrupted only for a few hours because of a storm during the night. We are sorry for the inconvenience.

Local attractions

San Sebastián city centre is 15 minutes’ drive from WeCamp San Sebastián – or do get that 30-minute shuttle bus... Once in town, firmly recommended are scenic strolls along its three beaches: La Concha, the surf centre Zurriola, and Ondarreta, a family-friendly and large stretch of sand also known for its surfing and bodyboarding. San Sebastián is quite the foodie city too – many inhabitants are members of the local gourmet clubs – and has heaps of well-renowned restaurants at which to sample Basque and other cuisine. It's a cultural place as well, home of the San Sebastián International Film Festival and of Jazzaldia, the longest continuously running jazz festival in Europe; small wonder that, along with Wroclaw in Poland, San Sebastián was awarded European City of Culture for 2016... The city is also (sí, there's a whole heap more) famed for its pintxos, the small bars of the region serving tapas alongside its drinks. Head to the San Sebastián Old Town to try the best of them: another reason this city is a must is that it has the highest concentration of bars in the world.
