Beach holiday or urban sightseeing – which is it to be? Luckily you can do both when you book a stay at Villa Teti, a family-friendly Campofelice di Roccella campsite five minutes’ stroll from its own private Tyrrhenian Sea beach. It’s also 10 minutes’ walk from the railway station for day trips to Sicily’s historic capital city of Palermo (an hour by train). Set amid leafy Mediterranean gardens planted with olive and palm trees – where you can relax with a book or snooze in the sun – the site has plenty to keep everyone occupied when more activity is needed. Challenge family and friends to some gentle competition on the tennis court, play rousing games of basketball or football, and let younger kids wear off energy on the playground swings. Wanting more? Try a fast-paced game of ping-pong, or bowling on the lawns. Cool off after all that with a refreshing dip in the swimming pool, with its sundeck surrounded by lemon trees, or meander down to the exclusive-use beach and put your feet up on a lounger – hit the sands at twilight and you may be rewarded by a spectacular sunset.

Liked: Nicht weit vom Strand entfernt. Mitten am Parkplatz zwischen Appartments. Der Pool ist sauber.

Disliked: Keine WC und duschen vorhanden, nur die öffentlichen am Pool. Viel teurer als angegeben.

From the manager: We are happy to hear you enjoyed the position, the pool and the fact you were at the beach unfortunatlly we cant wave the cost of electricity which is an extra 8€ per day and which is clearly stated on the website.

We offer common bathroom and shower area accessible any time of the day as stated on the description.

Liked: Stellplatz der sich eigentlich als Campingplatz verkauft hat. Man steht für 25€ am Tag plus 8€ Strom auf dem „Parkplatz“ zwischen den Ferien Apartments. Nutzung von Klo/Dusche/ Pool alles inkl. 200m zum Strand und 900m zum Bahnhof von dem man gut die Küste Richtung Palermo oder Messina kommt. Der erste Eindruck ist so lala, aber aufgrund der Ruhe und netter Atmosphäre gibt es doch 4/5 Punkten.

Local attractions

It’s unlikely that you will ever tire of the beach, its lively bar scene and myriad watersports opportunities, but should this unlikely situation arise, ship the whole family off to Acqua Verde (10 minutes’ drive) for a day on the water slides and wave machines. If that’s not high-octane enough, head inland to Zipline Sicilia (an hour and five minutes) for dramatic swoops over a steep hillside on zipwires. Still in the hills, stop off at the ruins of Abbazia di San Giorgio (35 minutes) for views to the coastline, then drive up into the Parco delle Madonie (an hour) for hiking adventures. Follow the Piano Cervi route for the chance to see elusive wild boar, and take a refreshing dip in the clear waters of Laghetto Mandria del Conte (50 minutes) after your exertions. Fancy exploring Palermo (an hour by train)? Tour the cathedral (formerly a mosque built in the eighth century), admire the Arabic and Byzantine architecture in Piazza Bellini and spot the vivid ceiling mosaics in Santa Maria dell’Ammiraglio church. Culture attended to, hit the beach at Mondello or sip an espresso while people-watching in enchanting, baroque-era Quattro Canti piazza.
