  • Well-equipped park 10 minutes’ drive to Bergamo and its alpine setting
  • Between Lake Iseo and Lake Como, within an hour's drive of Milan
  • Communal barbecues and picnic area on site; bus/tram stops close by
If you’re liking the thought of jumping between northern Italy’s lush lakes on a holiday, stay in between two of them at Area Camper Bergamo, within 45 minutes' drive of both glacial Lake Iseo and the lower reaches of Lake Como. This well-equipped and well-placed park for Italian trips is also just 10 minutes’ drive from Bergamo, and has a lovely alpine setting; have a peek at the pics to see the sublime scenery in which you'll have your stay. As you might already have gathered, landscapes and cityscapes aplenty are easily accessed from here too: the Bergamo Alps start just outside the city and the middle of Milan is an hour away. Lake Garda is reachable in an hour and five minutes to the east, and if you fancy a day in Switzerland, the border’s about an hour and 15 minutes away. Navigating the stunning setting is also easy from this Lombardy park, as bus and tram stops are just across the road and there's wifi at the park so you can load up your route before you set off on explores. It's a good idea to come back with a stash of foodie bits too – the site has a picnic area plus communal barbecues for a bit of outdoor cooking.

What customers say

Great spot for Bergamo exploring, with handy public transport. Staff are often praised as friendly. Pitches usually clean, though some say basic & small. Facilities get mixed feedback – some dated or closed overnight. Despite minor issues, many found it a convenient, good-value stop.

From the manager: "Juste une place de « parc » pour la nuit !"
My friend, that's LITERALLY what we are. A parking lot, NOT a camping site. It's written EVERYWHERE. The very same day you wrote this review, another user wrote a diametral opposite review. One understood that for 75 CENTS/h it is extremely convenient to even have toilets and showers in a parking area, the other thought to pay 18€/24h for a camping site. In a camping site you'd pay a min of 30€ for the pitch alone, plus x€/person, plus x€ for electricity, plus x€ for taxes.

The day managers will have the possibility to attach pics to their replies, it will be a blessed day. Just today, we found a BAG OF UNSORTED GARBAGE in the toilet area. WHY? We have a dedicated decological platform! Yesterday I found BLOOD all over a toilet seat. At a certain point, it is a matter of decency! Yet again, today we found another bag of trash in the public fountain we have to fill up bottles. You have no idea the kind of ill-mannered people we have to deal with. It's too easy to blindly demand everything, giving nothing, not even basic respect.

Once again, read before commenting. You left a review judging us as a camping site, still you paid an amount adequate for a parking lot.

From the manager: It's not very clear what you mean by "hours of departure" since 1) all info is expressed on the pitchup page, plus it's given once again upon arrival. Hence, WHY DID YOU BOOK IF THEY WERE AN ISSUE TO YOU? 2) You didn't specify any particular necessity neither during your reservation nor at your arrival. If you did, you'd have known it's possible leaving the reception before its opening prior proper notification due to the need of a physical badge to open the exit bar.
So you were provided with all info, still made the informed decision to spend a night here. This type of review is extremely unfair. It's like reserving a table at a restaurant which you know makes fish only, and then leave a bad review cause they didn't serve you meat. Unbelievable.

From the manager: Honestly, there are a couple of ratings that are, to say the least, odd.

"Geographical position" 3.5/5: 10 minutes from the airport, tram to downtown (5 minutes) literally behind us (20 meters), 10minutes by bike from downtown, 30 minutes from Citta alta by walking.

"Cleanness": We honestly do not know where you've been to give 3/5. The day managers will be allowed to attach pictures to review replies, it will be a blessed day. The state in which we find our toilets EVERY morning is aberrant at the least. We literally find fluids and other corporeal bodies EVERYWHERE, every day. The fight we must put up to make people respect the recycling of garbage is tiring. Just yesterday evening, we had to return a 50cm tall garbage bag abandoned on the ground to the owner, who was found thanks to our cameras. He didn't even say a "sorry". Still, yesterday, we found the knob of one of our showers snapped in two on the ground. IT WAS A METAL ONE, HOW?

"Ideal for kids" 2.5/5: Honestly, I do not know what you'd expect from a PARKING LOT. Our facility IS NOT A CAMPING. Nonetheless, 50 meters from our entrance, there's a kids' park with slides, swings, and even climbing routes.

To the reader, the conclusions.

From the manager: LOL this is hilarious!
In what world a parking area (NOT A CAMPING SITE) with showers, toilets, wifi, a children's adventure park next door as well as supermarkets, bars, restaurants, and public transportation is "muy basico"? You've been welcomed, got all the info about the town, a map, assistance about EVERYTHING, spent here 2 days, took advantage of the strategic placement to reach Milano in less than 1h and this is still "muy basico"?
Honestly, we think you've confused us for a camping site due to all the services we have thus making us anything except "muy basico" for what we are: a parking area.
If we were a caping you'd have paid x2 for your vehicle + another fee for each member of your party + taxes. We even had the consideration to give you pitch number 28 completely covered by the biggest tree we have to ensure you'd always had enough shade.
I challenge you to find another place with the same care and characteristics with the same prime

Local attractions

Start with the nearest local attraction to the park: the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Bergamo’s Città Alta (Upper Town) and its Venetian defensive systems (10 minutes’ drive away). Pick up a gelato from the central Piazza Vecchia square then wander around the grand Cappella Colleoni church and Basilica di Santa Maria Maggiore. Within 45 minutes are further handsome sights like the San Salvatore–Santa Giulia monastery with a museum full of bronze Roman artefacts and medieval frescoes in Brescia; the famed amphitheatre of Verona, meanwhile, is an hour and 25 minutes’ drive away. While the kids might not be overly keen on historical architecture, they’re sure to appreciate the Leolandia amusement park’s mini models of Italian landmarks (25 minutes’ drive) – although it’s more likely the rollercoasters, water rides and animals will capture most of their attention… Small travellers can also make a splash at the trails to the Serio waterfalls, a 50-minute drive from the site.

Nearest campgrounds

Unfortunately, we have no nearby bookable campgrounds.
