'A little gem in Passau' is just one of the chuffed verdicts on the wildlife haven and woodland site of Bavaria Kur-Sport Campingpark, on the outskirts of the health resort and spa of Eging am See. A peaceful stay among the trees and greenery here will have you within bell-ringing distance of the car-free and famed Danube Cycle Path, which runs right past the site, and a couple of minutes' drive (or five minutes' pedal) from the clean clear waters of Eginger lake and its sandy beach, recreation areas and boat rental – or, for the hardy, ice skating and curling in winter. For yet more cycling as well as woodland hiking, the 100-kilometre length of the Bavarian Forest surrounds the lake. Kur-Sport Campingpark is by a stream, with fishing straight from the site. Amenities include a spotless and comfy amenities building with disabled access and free hot showers; for leisure, there's a sports ground and a playground to keep all ages active, and a solarium for sunbathing away long lazy afternoons. A billiard table, games and toys are undercover for indoor hours. You can fire up either a barbecue or campfire here with the aid of the Kur-Sport food shop and gas cylinder sales, but do leave some time – and room – for a trip or two to the site restaurant and bar, which dish up traditional Bavarian cuisine as well as traditional Bavarian beer.

Liked: War alles wie beschrieben, uns hat es sehr gut gefallen.

Disliked: Wir kamen später an-aus Verkehrs gründen-, uns wurde am Telefon mitgeteilt, es werden keine Plätze reserviert und sollen uns einen Platz suchen. Die Suche hat sich im Dunkeln etwas schwer gestaltet. Sind dann am nächsten Morgen nochmal umgezogen.

Duschen und WC sauber aber schon in den Jahren gekommen,aber ok
Gaststätte echt super
Essen war gut Bürgerlich und sehr gut
Und was ich toll fand
ist das es auf Wunsch auch kleiner Portionen gibt
es werden alle möglich wünsche erfüllt
Gaststätterraum sehr geräumig und es dürfen auch Hunde mit rein
Stellplätze sind ausreichend
Im oberen Teil mit Wiese und chotter und im unteren Bereich Wiese
Ein Reiner stellplatz gibt es auch mit Strom der abseits ist und komplett getehrt ist
Wir waren zu Frieden und würden wieder kommen
Es kommt immer auf die Ansprüche von den Leuten an
Für uns war es ok

Disliked: Die Stromkästen sollten überarbeitet werden
Beschilderung von der Notausfahrt sollte besser gekennzeichnet sein
Beschilderung wo womo und Wohnwagen stehen dürfen sollte besser und Größer sein

Liked: We hebben een geweldige nacht doorgebracht op deze camping met onze drie kinderen. Vanaf het moment van aankomst werden we hartelijk ontvangen door het vriendelijke personeel. Het restaurant op de camping was een absolute aanrader, met heerlijk eten dat iedereen in het gezin beviel. De serene rust van de omgeving zorgde voor een ontspannen en verkwikkend verblijf. Een perfecte plek om even helemaal tot rust te komen. We komen zeker terug!

Disliked: We hebben alleen maar positieve ervaringen gehad tijdens ons verblijf op deze camping met onze drie kinderen. Bij aankomst werden we hartelijk verwelkomd door het vriendelijke personeel. Het restaurant bood heerlijk eten en een gezellige sfeer. De rust op de camping was precies wat we zochten, waardoor we volledig konden ontspannen. Een geweldige plek voor een kort verblijf.

Local attractions

Families, kids and enthusiastic two-wheelers should find the Danube Cycle Path passing the site suitable for all levels and all lengths of rides. You can tackle this riverside route for weeks if you wish – the Danube runs for around 2,900 kilometres from its source in the Black Forest to the Black Sea – but the most popular chunk is the one local to Kur-Sport Campingpark, the 340-kilometre stretch from Passau to Vienna. Bike hire, including for tandems and trailer bikes, is easily found along the way. The 20-hectare lake of Eginger See a few minutes from the site is a popular place for swimming, beach basking and boating, all surrounded by dense green forest. In town, make for the Sonnentherme centre for pools, saunas and a granite bath with massage jets. More town days are in Passau and Deggendorf, both 25 minutes away.
