  • Small family-friendly site on the eastern shore of Lake Annecy
  • At the foot of Mont Veyrier; a 10-minute drive from Annecy
  • Direct access to a beach on the lake; cycle hire available on site
Walks in the forest, climbing the mountains and paddling across the lake… with a location between Lake Annecy and the mountains, Camping Annecy-Veyrier-du-Lac is a base for it all. This small, quiet and family-friendly site is on the eastern shore of Lake Annecy and has direct access to the beach, so watersports and other watery activities are most definitely on the cards. The village of Veyrier-du-Lac is also at the foot of Mont Veyrier, giving you options for more time outdoors, whether it be hiking, mountain biking, cycling or climbing. Helpfully, the site rents out bikes so that you don’t have to waste any time sourcing your own pair of wheels. Annecy itself is only a 10-minute drive from Camping Annecy-Veyrier-du-Lac, so those wanting to spend time in the alpine old town, strolling along the canal or visiting the medieval castle will also have an advantageous base. Hikers, gather around too, as the site has good access to the Grande Traversée des Alpes, a long-distance hiking trail through the French Alps. In terms of facilities, the site has showers and toilets available, as well as a launderette. There are plenty of restaurants within walking distance of the site (including waterfront spots just a few minutes’ walk away) and there’s a family pub 10 minutes’ walk away too. As for picking up supplies, take a stroll to the shop that’s just 200 metres further along the same road as the pub.

What customers say

Quiet, peaceful site with a great lakeside spot and beach access. Friendly staff, clean facilities. Some say pitches are tight and can be noisy from nearby pubs, especially karaoke nights. Limited motorhome water/waste points.

Power optional grass tent site

Liked Beautiful lakeside position. Wonderful to watch the sunset. Most pitches have decent shade (but not all). Flat pitches. Shared fridge (but it doesn’t really keep food properly cold as it’s very hot and also it gets used a lot!). Local takeaway pizza in town and lakeside bars

Power optional grass tent site

Liked Campsite is located by the lake Annecy and there is a small beach nearby.
Facilities were clean and accessible.
Nice atmosphere on the site

Disliked It would be great if there was information where to get fresh baguette in the morning without driving to the shops 😁

Power optional grass tent site

Liked Stayed last week July/1st week August. Perfect location. Cleanliness. Price.
Have read other reviews, complaining of main road noise etc. but this site is not near the main road.
There are lovely restaurants either side. Have read complaints of noise. But its just general restaurant noise. More noise from the ‘snorers’ in tents than anything.
The two WC/Shower blocks and wash-up areas were hosed out every day. And very clean.
Site also has ‘static tents’ and wooden cabins if you prefer not to take your own.
There are 3 fridge/freezers and microwave with free use. A purpose bbq area and ‘lounging area’ with tables seating parasols.
Patisseries, supermarket, restaurants, tourist information, a short walk.
Bring your bikes!! Its a cyclists heaven. A 10 minute ride into Annecy town or s short bus ride.

Disliked Only thing i disliked was packing up to come home.
A few pitches could have been bigger. But they were well marked out. And we were given a choice on arival.
The site has Wifi but connection wasnt best, regularly had to reconnect when used. But you are on holiday, so it doesnt matter.
Only a see-saw and sit-on ‘thing’ in child ‘play area’. We didnt go with children so wasnt an issue.
No ‘activities’ on site but plenty to do on the lake so not a requirement.

Liked The owner was very friendly and found space for me to stay an extra night last minute. Good shared facilities that were clean and amazing location next to the lake and a beach. Felt safe as a female solo traveller.

Local attractions

As well as swimming in Lake Annecy and climbing, hiking and cycling in alpine foothills, you can up the adrenaline stakes on tandem paragliding and hang gliding jaunts over mountain peaks from Talloires (10 minutes' drive). If you prefer a quieter life, there’s miniature golf in Annecy’s Parc Charles Bosson (also 10 minutes). And of course Annecy (10 minutes) itself is a delightful town with a buzzing shopping scene and a medieval old town lining the Thiou River; have a poke around the cells in the triangular Palais de I'Île (once a prison), and pop into the heritage museum at the hilltop castle. There are lake views from the waterside Jardins de l’Europe, and you can jump on cruises at the Quai de la Tournette. Fancy exploring in a different country? Geneva (45 minutes) is the elegant capital city of Switzerland, with a backdrop of the Alps and famous for the massive Jet d’Eau fountain on Lac Leman. Here, you can tour the Palais des Nations, pop into galleries in the boho Quartiers des Bains and enjoy fondue lunches in traditional auberges in the old town.
