Looking for a campsite with loads to do to keep everyone happy? You’ve hit gold dust at Camping des Crocs, a small, low-key and family-friendly sort of place 15 minutes’ drive from the pretty seaside town of Le Crotoy in Picardy. With more than 40 years of experience running the site, the owners Francis and Odile are always on hand to help out in any way they can. So what exactly is on offer at Camping des Crocs? Partially shaded grass pitches divided by hedges for your privacy. A well-equipped playground and an inflatable bouncy castle for younger kids. Two pétanque courts for the whole family to test their skills. Bikes and e-bikes for hire from reception, so you can explore the cycle paths that surround the site. A bread delivery service and an informal dining room where local dishes are served. Dog walks and fishing direct from the pitches. On top of all that, there’s evening entertainment in the high season, and easy access to Baie de Somme beaches like Quend and Fort-Mahon (both 15 minutes’ drive) for summertime adventures splashing around in the water.

Liked: Nice and quiet, large pitch, EHU and water tap nearby. Toilet block basic but clean. Friendly staff in reception

Disliked: Had tokens given for showers and 6 minutes emphasised as timed. Never heated up so that’s my first and last time having a very cold shower 🥶🤣

Disliked: Arrived at 3.00pm, no one in reception, phone number didnt work, eventually went to house next door, and he rang someone!
Woman turned up half an hour later, no apologies, so we could check in. Not a great start after 250mile drive.
Toilets unheated and a bit mucky.

Liked: Wir hatten einen wunderschönen Aufenthalt bei euch 🥰 die Umgebung lädt zum Radfahren zu verschiedensten Ausflugzielen ein. Der Campingplatz ansich ist sehr schön und ein sehr guter Ausgangspunkt. Sowohl der Campingplatz inkl Toiletten sind sehr gepflegt und sauber. Es gibt ein paar Kleinigkeiten die man kaufen kann und man kann sich für jeden morgen u.a. Baguette kaufen. Jeden Tag kommt ein anderer Foodtruck. Für die Kinder gibt es aus verschieden Kinder zu Freundschaften schließen, eine Hüpfburg sowie Spielplatz laden herzlich ein.

Wir kommen sehr gerne wieder uns hat es sehr gut gefallen.

Liked: Une nuit passée emplacement 90 en tente.
Camping à dimension humaine, calme et paisible.
Voisinage très sympathique(84 et 89).
Structure gonflable pour les enfants, baby foot, aire de jeux.
Service de boulangerie au top et prix plus que raisonnable.
Possibilité d'aller à la piscine du camping d'à côté ainsi que de se rendre aux animations du soir.
Food truck presebt midi et soir.
Sanitaires et douches propres.
Je recommande cet établissement si vous recherchez du calme et de la tranquilité.

Local attractions

Horse-mad families don’t need to stray very far from the pitches; Henson Equestrian Centre is right next to the campsite and offers pony trekking and riding lessons for all levels of experience. If you prefer to partake in watersports, head for the Baie de Somme’s best kitesurfing spots, which lie between Le Hourdel (35 minutes’ drive) and Cayeux-sur-Mer (40 minutes), at the northern end of Le Crotoy beach and at Fort-Mahon (both 15 minutes). If that’s all a bit too high-octane for you, don your sturdy boots and follow the Promenade des Crocs hiking trail north along the Baie de Somme coastline from Park Marquenterre (five minutes), itself an area of coastal dunes and marshland grazed by wild horses and rich in birdlife including herons, avocets and egrets. Popular local resorts to get to know include Le Touquet (45 minutes), where you can browse stylish shops, play hide-and-seek with the kids on the sand dunes or enjoy a romantic dinner à deux in a seafront restaurant. Springboard to boat cruises across the Baie de Somme, Le Crotoy (15 minutes) is a cute fishing village with lots of seafood cafés around the harbour.
