  • 10-hectare countryside estate park set opposite the sea
  • Within easy reach of historic coastal towns and an award-winning beach
  • Large outdoor waterpark and waterslides and a private fishing lake
A fishing lake right on site is a whopping big draw of Domaine du Collet, between Pornic and Nantes โ€“ but if that doesn't tickle your fancy, you'll find pools and a hot tub around for use too, all in scenic surrounds near the sea. Covering 10 hectares of wooded country estate near the Loire-Atlantique village of Les Moutiers en Retz, Domaine du Collet is adjacent to the shore, about 16 kilometres from Pornic harbour town, and a piffling one kilometre from the oyster hauls of seaside town Port du Collet. It's a 45-minute drive from here to the excellent island of Noirmoutier. A big heated outdoor pool complex with waterslides, an indoor pool and a hot tub are all around to keep you occupied on site alongside the fishing lake, as well as tennis, miniature golf, table tennis and pรฉtanque. Live music, karaoke and themed evenings are held in July and August. Food is sorted at the bar-restaurant with takeaway and the grocery store selling local produce and fresh bread every morning. When ready to venture off site, make your way first to the main reception, where you can pick up information about things to do nearby (and use the park's postal service to send postcards and receive snail mail).

Local attractions

The small fishing port of Port du Collet, once known as the biggest exporter of salt on France but famed these days for its oyster hauls and oyster culture, is a kilometre from the site at the bottom of theย Bourgneuf Bay and the mouth ofย the Falleronย andย Breton marshes. Fishing plaices (soz) dot the coast from here to Domaine du Collet's local village of Les Moutiers en Retz. For spectacular sands, Prรฉ-Vincent, four kilometres away, comes with an award-winning beach, and Les Moutiers en Retz is at the southern edge of the Loire-Atlantique's Cรดte de Jade, running along the coastal edge of theย Pays de Retz. The historic harbour town of Pornic, in the middle of the Jade Coast 16 kilometres away, is an excellent option for a day trip for more splendid sands, fishing boats, villas and the town casino. From Pornic, follow the old trade path along the coast, or take a boat trip out from the harbour for short coastal sails or longer ones to Noirmoutier, the Ile de Yeu or Morbihan. Ancient megaliths, including the 5,500 year old Tumulus des Mousseaux just outside Pornic are also nearby.
