Liked Friendly lady on reception, answered the phone - otherwise I would never have found it!

Disliked Terrible directions. Very confusing that the reception is in the village, 1 km from the site and even with her help, I couldn't find it. There is a campsite sign on the road which has a completely different name! And this is not next to the entrance, which is a closed gate and looks like a private house entrance.

Liked Great little site surrounded by vineyards. Facilities clean and well maintained. Pitches separated by hedges so nice and private and owner offered a private champagne tasting when we arrived which was appreciated.

Disliked No shop onsite and the nearby village which is within walking distance is very small so you need to drive if you want to pick up supplies.

Liked Lovely cabin in hearts of champagne. We stayed there for two nights running away from rain in Annecy. Very comfortable stay, very quiet despite the the grape harvest in full swing.Lovely host. Very friendly. Recommended a lot.

Liked Very quiet site with generous sized pitches and lovely clean facilities.
Very relaxed, pretty and well thought out campsite with lots of trees and private shaded pitches.

Disliked As this is such a small site and a sister site to a larger one (we discovered later) there was no one on site to welcome us. We arrived at about 1830 and couldn't get through on the given phone number so didnt know where to pitch. We we're unable to access the locked facilities until we obtained the door key code from another camper.
The owner did respond to my email after an hour or so and confirmed we had pitched in the correct place and mentioned we should have gone to the other site to check in which we werent aware of.
Other than this though we loved the site it was beautiful and the area is gorgeous.

Liked Sheltered campsite close to the champagnerie in the village set on a gently sloping hillside with plenty of shade from trees. Pitches are level with water and electrical hookups provided. Clean toilet and shower facilities. Very friendly, welcoming hosts. The champagne tasting was a fantastic experience with sessions in French and also English. Would definitely recommend a stay here. We'll be coming back.

Sanitär ist komplett ausreichend, das selbstgemachte zubuchbare Abendessen war lecker und wir haben unseren Aufenthalt sehr genossen.

Liked The campsite is peaceful, with only a few pitches. You can go for a walk up a path to the side of the site through the vineyard to watch the sunset from the top of the hill.

Warm showers. Small playground for kids.

There’s a bakery about 15 mins drive away in Bar-Sur-Aube.

Location: Not much to do locally, but a bit further out -

Lac d’Orient is lovely for a day out, with water sports, a beach, restaurants etc

Château de Vaux has a great clue based game you can do, ending with you decoding a bomb to save the castle. The clues are in French but we just used Google translate.

Disliked There’s not a lot to do in the local villages/towns.

Whilst it is in an area of vineyards you can’t see them from the pitches.

Liked The setting is great, in amongst the champagne fields. Touring the production facilities with the owners and just wandering in the small village. Good bathroom facilities. Simple site otherwise, but a good sized pitch for a transit stop off. Would gladly go again.

Local attractions

This site makes a great base for exploring the Côte-des-Bar Champagne tourist route, taking in lots of sparkling samples and making your way through lovely landscapes and traditional villages like Bar-sur-Aube and Bar-sur-Seine. The area isn’t all about the wineries though – a short drive of 20 minutes or so from the site gets you to the Forêt d’Orient Regional Natural Park for all sorts of outdoor activities including hikes, birdwatching, golf, lake swimming, canoeing and parachuting. You might also like to climb up into the trees at Grimpobranches (half an hour’s drive), meet native beasts at Space Wildlife Orient Forest (25 minutes) or visit the 18th-century Moulin de Dosches (35 minutes). Elsewhere nearby, you can make trips to the Maison Renoir in Essoyes (25 minutes), the Cistercian Abbey of Clairvaux (20 minutes), the Crystal Museum in Bayel (20 minutes) or the family-friendly Nigloland theme park (10 minutes), for a day of rides and shows.
