  • Family site with sea views 15 minutes' drive from Locquirec
  • A 40-minute drive to the Pink Granite Coast and Bay of Morlaix
  • Direct access to the GR34 for hiking and trail running
One of the bonuses of outdoor holidays is the chance to take in spectacular views from your pitch… and you’re pretty much guaranteed those at Camping de la Corniche, as it overlooks the bays of Plestin-les-Grèves and Locquirec on the rugged Finistère coastline of Brittany. The peaceful clifftop site is neatly landscaped with trees, bushes and flowers, and provides all sorts of amenities to make life easy for families. Breakfast pastries and baguettes are available every morning, and you can pick up daily essentials and barbecue supplies at the on-site grocery shop. For anything else, there are shops around five minutes’ walk away. If you’re travelling with babies, hire high chairs and changing mats from reception (saves on the packing), and there’s a launderette so you can keep everyone clean. The kids might like to have a run around at the playground, and you can be on the beach within five minutes’ stroll. Direct access to the GR34 Brittany Coast Path makes Camping de la Corniche a convenient base for hikers, and it’s also pretty handy for Brittany sightseeing trips on the Côte de Granit Rose – but do try and make it back to the site one evening to catch the vivid sunset over the sea.

What customers say

Great spot with brilliant sea views & beach access. Staff are super friendly. Facilities generally clean but basic. Relaxed vibe, with bread & a bar. Some sloping pitches, limited on-site food options noted.

Fully-serviced grass and earth site

Liked Laid back campsite, we could choose where to pitch up. Very friendly family run business. The little bar served great Aperol spritz for only £5. Great access to the coastal path, we walked in both directions, you will need to be able to go up and down steep rocky bits but we loved it. Showers had plentiful hot water. Peaceful when we were there (early July). Good value.

Disliked The toilets had no toilet paper.

Local attractions

If white-sand beaches are where you want to be, you'll be pleased to hear that quiet Plage de Porz-Mellec is only 10 minutes’ walk from the pitches. It’s prime sandcastle-building territory, but if you’re feeling like a bit more action you can hire canoes and kayaks to paddle the craggy shoreline. Another family-friendly spot is Plage des Sables-Blancs (10 minutes’ drive), with a kids’ club and lifeguards in summer. Any sailors among you can hire dinghies and catamarans from the marina at Port de Locquémeau (15 minutes), and keen hikers can set off on foot to see the pink-tinged cliffs of the Côte de Granit Rose (five minutes’ walk). There are also way-marked footpaths along the beach to the bizarre rock formations at Ploumanac’h (40 minutes’ drive). More piles of boulders (this time manmade) can be found at the Barnenez Cairn (half an hour), open for tours of one of Europe’s largest Neolithic burial chambers. Coming several millennia forward in time, you can take a stroll among the monumental contemporary sculptures in the scenic Valley of the Saints (40 minutes).
