What customers say

Great natural spot, see roos & birds. Quiet nights, clean facilities. Staff brilliant, even in a storm. Some found the camp kitchen small and facilities a trek. Worried about kids disturbing wildlife.

Mill Point unpowered grass and earth site

Liked We really appreciate the natural of this site. We saw kangaroos and a lot of different birds, we went next to the lake on a little beach, it was pretty quiet during the night that was perfect. Another thing is that facilities where pretty clean.

Disliked The only bad things was to sleep in the roof tent because it was cold under the trees as the sun couldn’t reheat the tent, and it was raining the last day of our stay so this was bad for us but not your fault. And for the second one the bad point was that the facilities where very far of our sleeping spot and some showers don’t have a lot of pressure. We thought it was bad too that animals are not protected from the children, as we saw a child running after the kangaroos and another one throwing his ball on the birds ..

From the manager: Thank you so much for taking the time to share your experience with us. We're delighted to hear you appreciated the natural beauty of Habitat Noosa—encountering kangaroos and birdlife up close is a truly special part of staying in this unique part of the world. It’s also great to know you enjoyed the peaceful lake setting and found the facilities clean and well-maintained.

We're sorry to hear the roof tent felt cold—this season has been unseasonably chilly, and we understand how that can impact comfort, especially when the sun doesn’t make it through the canopy.

Regarding your comments on wildlife interactions, we couldn’t agree more. As an eco-certified property within a national park, the wellbeing of our native animals is a top priority. We clearly note in guest information and signage that wildlife have right of way and should not be approached or disturbed. It’s essential that children are supervised at all times, and it's disappointing when these guidelines are not followed. We will continue to reinforce this message to help protect the environment and ensure all guests can enjoy these encounters respectfully.

Thank you again for your thoughtful review. We hope to welcome you back in the near future.

Local attractions

The helpful folk at Habitat Noosa know the area like no-one else and as well as being a mine of information on local trails and sights, they also lay on a number of excursions. For active sorts, day-long canoe trips through the shimmering waterways and chattering rainforests of the Noosa Everglades may appeal, with stopoffs for swims and barbecue lunches. If you’re more of a sit-back-and-take-it-in type, settle down on a river cruise or a sunset tour of Lake Cootharaba. Another must-do destination on the excursion list is Fraser Island, and again you can take a trip straight from the park. Fraser is the world’s biggest sand island, made up of vast shifting dunes and multicoloured cliffs, with what must be the world’s clearest and purest rainwater lake in its centre. If you’re a seafaring sort, head half an hour to Noosa for all manner of watersports, whale watching from the lookout point and dives out to the reefs and shipwrecks. For hiking, biking and horse rides inland, the varied trails and diverse ecosystems of Ringtail State Forest and Tewantin National Park are both around 20 minutes’ drive away. After a hit of history? Head over to Gympie and its goldmining museum (45 minutes); if it’s inspired you, hire some fossicking kit from the tourist information office and try your luck gold panning in the Mary river… it’s worked for some.
